Create a four-page document in word with the two middle pages blank. The first page will be the front cover and the fourth page will be the back cover. Look at a book whose cover you like and using color and design create an appropriate cover for the booklet, keeping in mind the tone of the book and what it is about. Remember to put authors name and title of the book on the front cover. Also you can put your own name or invent a company name you can put on the back cover for example `Published by Brittany Publishing'.

Once the cover is printed and the book contents are also printed using the booklet option, then all you have to do is fold the papers in the middle with the cover in front and staple it in the middle twice. Viola,-- You have your booklet! You will have to crease the middle and put weight on the booklet so that it retains its form. You can use a paper cutter to trim the edges. Since you used a free version of the software you will see a line at the bottom of every page saying printed by fine print, which is fine, you can trim it off. You don't have to buy it unless you feel that it is time to sell the booklets. Now you can present this to your child and see the face light up.
