DEEP THOUGHT OF THE MONTH: If people turn blue when choked, what color are choked smurfs? Welcome Fellow Obsessed Writer! I am knee deep in snow at this point and cannot stand it any longer! We had a huge snowstorm on Wednesday that resulted in another 10 inches of snow and are due for another 15-25 inches on Saturday. We are at the point that there is nowhere left to put it. The snow in the backyard is almost 2 feet deep. I have to keep going back there to clear a path for the poor dog. I have a beagle named Tessie and the snow is much higher than she
is. I have had a busy month trying to drum up some work. I managed to write two articles, and send out a few queries. Nothing has come of any of it yet but I am optimistic that something will click eventually. I would like to take this opportunity to welcome our newest sponsor, Creative
Editing Solutions. President, Ed Easley is a long standing subscriber of The Obsessed Writers Group Newsletter so if you are looking for a professional editor, please contact Ed and let him help you with your editing needs. You can find Ed’s advertisement is right after my welcome letter. If you are looking for the perfect Easter gift for the little ones on your list, consider an autographed copy of my book. Church Mouse Poor is a wholesome, feel-good picture
book for children ages 3 and up. It is beautifully illustrated, professionally
printed and sure to become a favorite snuggle up bedtime story. The book will be inscribed to the recipient. Synopsis: Thomas the mouse lives in the old church at the end of town. His usual Sunday morning takes an unexpected turn when he overhears one of the church’s parishioners say that they are ‘as poor as a church mouse’. Thomas's ears twitched. Thomas's ears quivered. He was shocked. He was stunned. He couldn't believe his ears. Was he as poor as a church mouse? Thomas sets out on a quest to find out what it means to be as poor
as a church mouse and meets some interesting characters along the way! As the story unfolds, Thomas discovers the true meaning
of what it means to be rich or poor and revels in the love of his mother, grandmother and the simplicity of his mouse existence. The price is $10.16 (includes applicable taxes) Shipping is extra. As a special bonus for Obsessed Writers group subscribers, I will also email you a fr*ee copy of my ebook, Obsessed: Diary of a Freelance Writer. Most aspiring writers are surprised to learn that most traditional
children’s publishing houses do
not require illustrations to be submitted with a children’s picture book manuscript. Although some publishers will look at illustrations if they are submitted with the manuscript, some will not even look at them unless they are created by a professional artist. Many children’s publishers have their own team of illustrators on staff or contract that they work with. However, if your manuscript is accepted, most publishers will consult the author regarding any ideas or concepts the author might have regarding the illustrations. If you are considering submitting a children's picture book manuscript complete with illustrations, read the publisher's guidelines for their policy on illustrations. Stuck on
finding a market for a particular article or have a writing-related question. Send me some details and The Article Clinic will come up with some answers and/or suggestions. Send your article details to: obsessedwriters@ yahoo.ca ------------

Something new to see on the internet. ------------ --------- --------- --------- --------- ---- The Write Soul By Graciela West Recently, it has been in the news that two books passing as autobiographies are lies. My sense of moral indignation is not necessarily ruffled since I did not learn about these books until the lies were exposed. However, if I had bought these books and read them with the perception that I was being exposed to truth, then I would be mighty angry. Writers entertain, influence, teach, and inform, as we share what is in our minds. Whether purposely or not: we influence the thoughts and ideas of our readers.
Therefore we have a responsibility to hold ourselves within certain parameters that defines our actions as causing no harm. It is harmful to present statements as truth when they are lies. Wars and lost lives have resulted because of this disservice. I am not saying that these books have caused these upheavals, but remember that propaganda is a powerful weapon used in wars. Let’s not unleash it on our society. Lies hurt; fiction entertains. As writers, we should know and practice the difference. The writers of the recalled books have not only hurt their readers with deception, but they have
hurt themselves and their credibility. As humans we all can make mistakes, but there is enough information out there to prevent us
from making some obvious ones. Keep fiction as fiction and fact as fact. If there is any doubt if it is fact or fiction, call it fiction. ------------ --------- --------- --------- --------- --------- --------- ----- Writing Resource Spotlight www.CoolStuff4Write "Stay In Your Write Mind With Our Cool Stuff!"
