Hi Fellow Obsessed Writers:

I was a little disappointed to receive a rejection to my submission to a teen
focused website. I was so smug thinking that I had managed to capture their
market that I was expecting an acceptance letter instead. I followed their
guidelines exactly as outlined, the article's tone and style fit with the other
articles and they needed articles on this particular subject. So what went
wrong?

I guess I will never know for sure, the rejection letter stated that my article
did not fit into their editorial needs - that statement is so wide open. I wish
the editor would have been more specific so I could understand and learn from
this rejection. I appreciate it when an editor gives me a reason for the
rejection; I am relieved to hear if they already have something similiar on the
back burner. At least I know that it is nothing to do with my article itself.

Hi Fellow Obsessed Writers:

Spring officially arrives this week but the view from my window says otherwise
it will not happen here any time soon. The weather forecast for Easter Sunday
is a chilly 28F. So much for any Easter egg hunts; you would have to look in
the snow for them! Hopefully our reward for this cold, snowy winter will be a
hot, sunny summer.

My querying efforts have been paying off, I have two articles to write over the
next week and one of my submissions was just accepted. It is so hard to get
back on track once you have fallen out of your rhythm but it is essential that
you work through it and get right back in there. I am nowhere near having 13
queries in play (like Hope Clark, Funds For Writers always promotes), but I am
working hard to get as many queries circulating as possible.

Hi Nolan!

That's it! That is the one! And it does pay $500. It is stated under the
writers guidelines half way down the page. I knew it paid well - it is not a
beginner market. Funny thing, I never came across it when I was searching. I
googled it and even went on one of those magazine sites that lists just about
all the magazines for sale.

Hi Steve:

No, I do not think it was American Profile.The guidelines specifically outlined
that they were looking for profiles and histories of American towns circa
1800-1900 centuries. The pay was around $500 USD. Thanks for your input, I will
keep looking. Maybe the publication has gone bankrupt.

Good Afternoon Subscribers

About 1 year ago, I had come across a publication that focused on american
history, in particular, small towns with an interesting historical tale to
tell. I have misplaced the name of publication and cannot seem to remember what
it is. Is anyone familiar with this publication? The only thing I remember is
that it profiled small towns in the US and was a higher paying market
(possibly). Pls let me know if you have any information pertaining to this
publication.

Hi Fellow Obsessed Writers:

We have been bombarded with snow for weeks now. The snowbanks are so high that
you cannot see over them when you are driving and turning the corners is quite
dangerous. When will it ever stop? I am truly missing my annual trek to a
warmer climate now; my trip to Tobago in December seems like a distant memory.

This snowy weather has given me ample time to get my freshly painted office
organized and oh boy, what a difference it has made! The best part of painting
a room is the decluttering factor. After going through all the stuff that was
in my office, I filled two recycling boxes of papers, newspapers etc. My office
is so clean now, it actually took me a few days to get used to being able to
find what I was looking for.

Perhaps, you can use some decluttering too? Is your workspace overrun with
