Bear in mind that you must keep the file size of your pictures small so your web pages will load quickly. Use photo editing software to resize your images so you don't lose the quality. If you don't have a professional program such as Adobe Photoshop, there are several free programs eg Google's Picasa http://picasa.google.com/ available. The photo sharing site Flickr.com automatically offers optional image sizes so you could upload your photos to Flickr and choose the size you want. It's a good idea to rename your image file using relevant keywords for search engine optimization and add an ALT (Alternate Text) Attribute - which is a text description of the image - in case the image fails to load. This way your visitors can get an idea of what the image is. You can find suitable photos online in stock libraries. You will have to buy a license - always read the fine print to check how you can legally use the photos. Usually you are not allowed to use stock photos to create website templates or graphics for reselling to others.
