************ Jobs ...that MovieMaker.com, the online publication of MovieMaker Magazine, is looking for movie lovers to contribute short film reviews to our award-winning Web site. From the smallest art-house picture to the biggest Hollywood blockbuster, we want your opinion on today's new releases. (OK to mention Ed) ...that Venus Zine, a quarterly, internationally circulated magazine that focuses on women in music, film, fashion, art and DIY culture, seeks a DIY section editor to start in late winter/early spring 2007. This is a work-from-home freelance position. The qualified candidate will have experience as a published writer and editor in addition to a creative, crafty sensibility. The ideal candidate will have oodles of how-to project ideas (for home decorating, accessory-making, etc.) and will be familiar with the DIY/indie craft scene. The DIY editor will need to be able to work approximately 35-40 hours per quarter, be in charge of 10-15 pages per issue and oversee a team of freelance writers. The DIY editor also is expected to write some of the section?s stories in addition to a regular ?From the Desk of..." column that features a series of blurbs about cool DIY products. You must own a reliable computer and Internet connection to apply. We?re looking for candidates who live in anywhere in the U.S. Because the majority of this job requires e-mail communication with writers, we are seeking an excellent communicator who is able to advise writers who have various skill sets. This position pays a per-issue contributor?s fee and does not include benefits. The fashion editor is in charge of six to 10 pages per issue, recruiting and managing a crew for each fashion shoot that includes the photographer, stylist, models and makeup/hair person and communicating with Venus Zine?s publisher about including key brands in shoots.
