...that the fashion and accessories departments of ELLE are looking to fill several internship positions. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, checking in and out clothing and accessories samples, organizing the fashion and accessories closets, picking up designer samples around Manhattan, assisting on photo shoots, help in putting together look-boards for the editors and occasional administrative tasks. Interns must be dedicated, mature and enthusiastic about learning how the fashion department of a top publication works. ...that Parenting magazine is looking for an intern to work in the art department. An intern in Parenting's art department will have the opportunity to work for a Time Inc. publication, providing general office assistance to the art and photography departments. The intern will work closely with the Art Assistant and his/her responsibilities will include scanning, updating the illustrator and photographer database, calling in and returning portfolios, faxing, copying, and updating the editorial wall. This person must be energetic, detail-oriented, organized, self-motivated and able to prioritize duties as they come. Experience with photography, scanning, QuarkXPress and Photoshop knowledge a plus. An intern with photo experience may have the opportunity to do photo research and photo shoot production. ...that photographer Chris Buck, a portrait photographer working for editorial and advertising clients, seeks a spring intern. His clients include Esquire, GQ, New York, Blender, The New York Times Magazine, Hewlett Packard, Moviefone and Microsoft. The Chris Buck office seeks someone enthusiastic, quick learning and detail oriented to assist with the day-to-day needs of our busy photo office. Duties include filing photographs, running practical earns, scanning & retouching images and compiling portfolios. Good organizational skills and a sense of humor are equally important in working with us. The intern will be able to accompany the photographer on local shoots as a 2nd or 3rd assistant. Also, we encourage the asking of lots of questions re: the industry and the craft of photography. This internship is different than many in that the student is almost always working directly with the photographer. We offer a $15 per day stipend. Some of the intern's daily responsibilities will include market work, research, maintaining/organizing the home closet and products we receive, some writing and some administrative work. There will be opportunities to attend photo shoots. The health department is looking for an excellent writer with great phone/people skills who is interested in women's and family health topics. The intern will do some administrative work (such as updating the health files), research health topics and brainstorm article ideas, assist the health editors in various ways and will get some clips (if writing skills are up to par).
