Hosted by the MTR Media Center, this discussion will examine the relationship between the government and the press in covering the War on Terrorism.

...that Health magazine is looking for a superstar paid intern/freelance editorial assistant for their busy beauty and fashion department in New York City. The ideal candidate must be extremely organized, able to multi-task, enthusiastic, and proactive. This position is an integral part of a three-person department. Responsibilities include: Calling in products for all stories, attending industry events, researching stories, cultivating relationships with industry contacts, and generating ideas. Internships

...that V!VA Publishing Network is looking for office-based web-savvy editorial interns in its sunny Quito, Ecuador office for its Summer Internship Program. Position is heavy on research, fact-checking and includes some writing for new guidebook series. Experience with desktop publishing programs, especially InDesign an advantage. Some website maintenance will be required, for which training will be provided. Must be able to write and speak at an intermediate Spanish level. This internship is unpaid but university credit can be arranged and you can expect to gain very hands-on and varied work experience in the travel publishing industry, along with the chance to get published. Program dates run from mid June to mid/end August. While start/end dates can be flexible, a two-month minimum commitment is required.
