Pay attention, up-and-coming Edsters in the city now for fall internships! Ed is back on his giving spree and is handing out his Ed's Trust Fund for the fall semester. If you're an UNPAID intern at a magazine in New York City this summer, then Ed wants to help you out! Read Ed's Trust Fund rules (aka: the "fine print")—and snatch an application—at www.ed2010.com/ed-campus/trust-fund and then apply before SEPTEMBER 30, 2007! You must have your fall internship secured when you apply. The prize? $1,000 to use however you please. (But Ed hopes the winner'll use it to, well, live in this amazing yet ridiculously expensive city!)

NYC Eds: Happy Hour is one week from today!

Thanks to all who've RSVPed to the SpecialEd for Employed Eds—nearly 40 of you, and counting! The details: Ed's hosting a SpecialEd Happy Hour on Sept. 25 from 7-9pm for those of you who are proud to find your name on a magazine or Website masthead. This event is for all levels from EA to Senior Ed, but you must be a full-time or full-time freelance magazine/dotcom editorial employee to attend (don't worry, jobseekers - there'll be another open-attendance happy hour soon!). Chill Lounge (329 Lexington Ave at 39th Street) is giving us the whole back room, plus there will be drink and food specials all evening (1/2 price on everything from 7-8, and 2-for-1 margaritas and mojitos from 8 on). While RSVPs aren't required, it'd be great to get an idea for numbers, so please shoot an email to events@ed2010.com if you plan to come.

Mag freelancer and teacher Eric Butterman and Ed2010 present a 5-week super-intensive course on freelance pitching and writing. Enrollment limited to 15 students, plenty of personal attention. Learn how to write the best email pitches possible, be good on the phone and sell stories (one student sold $3,000 in freelance stories while still in the class--we're not kidding). About Eric: He's been an editor on staff at Folio: and Travel Agent magazine, and has written for Glamour, Men's Fitness and countless other titles.

Classes are Mondays Oct. 29th-Nov. 26th, 7-9pm (7:30-9:30 on 11/12) at The Manhattan Theatre Club, The Creative Center, 311 West 43rd Street (near 8th Ave.)
