Yum-my!

BTW, Ed doesn't endorse the random non-Ed advertisement you see at the top of the newsletter. It's just what happens when you use a free e-newsletter service.

Ed's sorry but Go Daddy, his service provider, has shut down ed2010.com because of "over access" issues. Ed loves that he's being over used (and enjoys being used in general), but shutting him down just sucks. As soon as the site's back up Ed will email you, promise.

“SI” to Publish Special Brett Favre Issue
By Jeff Bercovici

Brett Favre is packing it in -- but not before Sports Illustrated gets one more newsstand bump out of him. On Monday, SI will publish a newsstand-only commemorative issue celebrating the Green Bay quarterback's career, according to a Time Inc. source.

Retailing for $7.99, the issue will consist mostly of archival material, but it will contain a new essay by columnist Peter King, a sportswriter whose fanboy-like regard for Favre has made him a frequent target for humor among sports obsessives. (King filed his story on Favre's retirement from Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, where he's touring U.S. military bases with NFL players.) King also wrote this back-pager* for last year's Sportsman of the Year issue honoring Favre. That issue sold so well in Wisconsin, SI ended up resorting to its first-ever third printing to satisfy demand.

So what's really standing between Victoria Beckham and a daily workout at the gym? Laziness? Fear of bulking up? Verrucas? Actually, it's footwear. She tells British Vogue in the upcoming April issue that she's joined a gym, but can't bear to go. "I would never put my health at risk. Obviously, working out is important. Well, I don't. What do you wear on the running machine? I can't bring myself to wear flat shoes," says Beckham.

British Vogue editor in chief Alexandra Shulman, who conducted the interview, notes Beckham is "fully aware she's parodying herself — her common default position when questioned."

Speaking of shoes, Beckham also reveals a top tip for gals who have to have a certain pair of shoes — even if they're too big. "If they don't have my size, I just stick toilet paper in — if that's what it takes to get a nice shoe." The issue goes on sale Monday.
