******* Allure's Kristin Perrotta will now be full time again at the beauty magazine as editorial projects director. Perrotta will manage Allure's special sections and issues, including Allure Spa, an annual special that will be distributed in spas and salons in September. The editor has worked with the magazine for 12 years, starting first in the beauty closet and working her way up to deputy editor/beauty director, a position she held for half of her time at Allure. Perrotta left in November 2006 to become editor at large for the magazine, where she did television appearances on its behalf and hosted videos on Allure.com. She'll continue such duties in addition to her new job responsibilities.

Another magazine veteran is leaving print behind for the Web. Polly Blitzer, former assistant editor at In Style, has started her own site, BeautyBlitz.com, which she is marketing as the first national beauty magazine to be published entirely online. The site will feature celebrity guest editors, blogs and special sections, access to industry experts and include a team of former editors from magazines including Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, Marie Claire and In Style. Once the site hits a viable traffic benchmark, Blitzer plans to meet with beauty, fashion and lifestyle companies about advertising. "Strategic partnerships and branded content seem to be the future of online advertising, so we're pursuing those heavily," she said. The site's main revenue stream right now comes from fees she earns as a beauty spokesperson and expert. She declined to name potential advertisers, although Esi Eggleston Bracey, vice president and general manager for global P&G Cosmetics, seemed open to the idea. "Web sites such as BeautyBlitz.com provide fantastic opportunities for P&G Beauty to share our new product and technology news with women," said Bracey. "Our research shows that beauty-involved women are searching for beauty news, tips, and expert endorsements from multiple sources." MORE ONLINE

Bonnie Fuller, who two weeks ago was ousted from her $2.5 million a year editorial director job at Star magazine publisher American Media Inc., is learning that finding backers to finance her latest attempt at reinvention isn't so easy. According to sources, Fuller was trying to hook up with 3i, a global private-equity and venture-capital firm with more than $5.6 billion in assets, which counts media as one of the eight industries on which it focuses. However, that venture might have fizzled even before it got off the ground. Calls to 3i's Park Avenue offices revealed that Fuller - who has a reputation for landing and then quickly departing throughout most of her publishing career - was no longer a presence in the office.
