... that FAST COMPANY, a design-intensive, ASME-award-winning monthly business magazine seeks an experienced assistant photo editor. The ideal candidate should have 1-2 years experience at a magazine. Assistant photo editor will work closely with photo editor and art director. The Candidate will do some assigning of photographs, photo research and in charge of billing, contracts and returns of photographs. Send resume with salary requirements to srozen@fastcompany.com. Duties may include, but are not limited to: assisting in the production of radio charts, fact-checking, some light writing, mailing magazines, making phone calls to clients, listening to CD submissions and general administrative assistance to the editorial staff. There may also be opportunities to write reviews. Qualified candidates should have some writing experience, should be comfortable with Microsoft Office, Quark, database management and the web, as well as be extremely detail-oriented and have a working knowledge of and passion for today's musical climate. Interns will work the editorial staff on anything and everything, including story research, contacting press reps, organizing products/PR info, and assisting the editors with all editorial/production/administrative tasks. The staff is small so you??™ll be in the thick of things. We??™d like a commitment of about 15 hours a week (two full days or several half days). Class credit is optional.
