By Paul Colford
1/28/05

Get ready for a U.S. edition of OK! - Britain's very glossy, oversized and popular celebrity weekly.

Billionaire British publisher Richard Desmond, who had dodged calls seeking comment on word he'll launch OK! this year, announced yesterday the former editor of British OK! will head a U.S. edition.

His choice as editor in chief - Nicola McCarthy, known as Nic - has been working in New York since last spring, as an executive editor of Us Weekly, which now becomes a rival.
