There's more upheaval at Money magazine as new Managing Editor Eric Schurenberg continues to shed people who joined when Bob Safian was running the show.

1/31/05

With the new year, everybody wants to get their finances in order. This month's personal finance mags give you a shot at success with investment ideas and broad features about how money affects your whole life.

Kiplinger's is chock full of investment ideas, including five bargain stocks that are in the single-digits but poised for strong growth, including an Internet flower delivery company, a small drug outfit and a small energy player. Ready to ditch your your job and your current life? Money offers advice on how to pay for your dreams, with examples of people who gave up jobs to attend law school or open a bed and breakfast. An excerpt from Yale professor Robert Schiller's new edition of his book "Irrational Exuberance," calling real estate a speculative bubble, should give potential homeowners pause. See the useful guide of 50 mutual funds for families.

Plastic surgery articles have long been a staple of women's beauty magazines, and plastic surgeons are longtime advertisers. To compete for advertising dollars, NewBeauty will publish 13 regional editions featuring advertisements for local board-certified cosmetic surgeons, dermatologists and cosmetic dentists.
