******* Suzanne Boyd, the editor in chief of Essence Communications Partners' shuttered multicultural fashion magazine Suede, quietly left the company this week after turning down an editor-at-large position at corporate parent Time Inc. "We're clearly disappointed," said Michelle Ebanks, president of Essence. "She's such an amazingly talented journalist." Ms. Boyd likely became the magazine world's most renowned Canadian import since Bonnie Fuller when Essence lured Ms. Boyd from the top slot at Toronto-based fashion magazine Flare last year to edit the then-untitled fashion offshoot of Essence. full-time position located in New York City, NY. The Associate Editor
will work with ClubMom's content director to contribute to the development
of ClubMom.com's 20+ content channels, including Health & Wellness,
Cooking & Food, Beauty & Fashion, Parenting, Safety, Relationships, Spirituality
& Religion, Self-Development, House & Home, and more. Applicants should
have a passion for the Web and media in general, understand how moms across
the U.S. use the Web to find information and support, and have a strong
interest in subjects covered by ClubMom.com. Responsibilities include: Updating
channel pages on a daily and weekly basis; Planning and implementing
content refreshes for channels; Writing, editing, and building new content;
Working with Community Coordinator to solicit member-generated content, edit

site; Integrating content on the site from third-party content
providers (magazines, other Web sites, etc.); Researching and reviewing

implement new features and upgrades for channels; Monitoring and
reacting to Web traffic data. The job opportunity is an interesting one for an
aspiring editor-in-chief b/c ClubMom provides exposure to a number of
disciplines that are key to becoming a well-rounded editor-in-chief in today's
competitive publishing world. I'm looking for someone who already has
strong writing and editing skills, isn't afraid to step off the straight and
narrow editorial path, and is interested in becoming the "total package."
