****** Welcome to the 2005 FOLIO: 40. This list??”the oldest and most prestigious of its kind ??”is back after a four-year hiatus, but this time we added a twist to the criteria. We??™ve tried to identify a diverse group of the industry??™s leading innovators and influencers??”people who reflect all the industry??™s disciplines and sectors. But this year, we??™ve required that designees show quantifiable results that demonstrate the impact of their ideas and initiatives. This list is not about ???soft??™ indicators. It??™s about results??”tangible proof of actionable ideas. It??™s also not all-inclusive. That would be impossible. There are hundreds of highly successful innovators who deserve to be on this list??”but then it would be the FOLIO: 400, not the FOLIO: 40. So the people profiled here represent the best of what the industry has to offer from among many other deserving innovators.
