That's what Ed is to household pests, man. He straight drowned a waterbug in a pool of RAID this morning. He was like "Booyeah!" (He couldn't bring himself to dispose of the body, though. Because it's, like, really gross and awful. The wings are all splayed out and plastered to the floor and the legs are all nightmarishly curled up. In fact, Ed doesn't think he can go home tonight. Can he stay wit' you?)

Source Co-Founder Quits, Then Vows to Stay, As Discrimination and Harassment Allegations Arise
By Dylan Stableford

Raymond "Benzino" Scott, the co-founder and co-owner of the self-proclaimed "bible of hip-hop" magazine The Source, on Monday vowed to stay on after abruptly resigning as chief brand manager late last Friday, as two former high-ranking staffers filed claims of gender discrimination and sexual harassment against him and David Mays, the magazine's CEO.

Scott says his initial resignation, in which he stated that a longstanding public feud with the rapper Eminem and an industry culture of political correctness led to his decision, came out of frustration. "I was frustrated," says Scott. "I felt consumed."

Scott also says his decision came after Def Jam Records pulled advertising out of The Source on Friday and that brass at Eminem's label, Interscope Records, had threatened to remove Def Jam chairman Antonio "LA" Reid. Both record labels are owned by Universal Music Group. Scott says he did not want to see Reid get fired over his spat with the rapper. He says he was convinced to stay on after meeting late Friday with Mays, Reverend Al Sharpton and executives from Black Enterprise, the magazine's chief investors. Scott says he was never going to relinquish ownership, but only "creativity."

Bonuses are bulging

Oprah Winfrey surprised 100 editorial and advertising staffers of O, The Oprah Magazine, by giving them $5,000 bonuses on Sunday night. The talk show queen, celebrating the fifth anniversary of her vanity mag at the Park Avenue penthouse of Hearst Magazines president Cathie Black, told her grateful underlings: "I figured I would give you five things you could really use." Best of all, the bonuses were tax-free. Winfrey was criticized last year when, after she gave away 276 cars to an audience of her show, the winners discovered they had to fork over $7,000 in taxes to keep their $28,500 Pontiac G-Sixes.

Time's tally proves listless, not timeless

Whether they're ranking America's greatest presidents, best big-screen love stories, or all-time baseball teams, lists exist to get on people's nerves.

If you want to start verbal fisticuffs -- or the real thing, particularly if alcohol is involved -- just start discussing some list claiming ''Seinfeld" is funnier than ''I Love Lucy," or the 1995-96 Chicago Bulls were better than the 1985-86 Boston Celtics.

And so it is with Time's list of the world's 100 most influential people, released this week. Meant to represent the ''men and women whose power, talent, or moral example is transforming the world," according to the weekly newsmagazine's editors, there are such usual suspects as President Bush, Apple's Steve Jobs, and Oprah Winfrey. Despots and desperados are represented by North Korean dictator Kim Jong Il, and Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, who has led the anti-US insurgency in Iraq.
