The Week magazine puts on a series of lunchtime "Conversations" at Michael Jordan's Steakhouse in New York's Grand Central Terminal. At each one, Sir Harry Evans moderates a discussion among assorted notables about some timely event. Today was the latest installment, with Henry Kissinger and Dennis Ross discussing Mideast peace over a meal of poached salmon and asparagus. There's no guarantee the panelists will say anything particularly interesting or unexpected at these events, but there's always fun to be had in seeing who shows up -- and trying to imagine what some of these folks are doing there. Tina Louise, better known as Ginger of "Gilligan's Island," is, I'm told, a regular. So let's leave the political analysis to others, for a change, and instead present a taxonomy of The Week lunchers, listed in order of decreasing importance: MORE ONLINE 2. Kelly 4/15/05 http://www.nypost.com/business/42642.htm The Atlantic Monthly is pulling the last of its editorial operations from Boston and heading to Washington, D.C. Cullen Murphy, managing editor, has decided to step down rather than move to D.C. David Bradley, chairman and owner of Atlantic Media, who paid an estimated $10 million to take the title off Mort Zuckerman's hands in 1999, said the magazine has continued to lose money. For sports fans, this is a luckier break than a bases-loaded bloop single. Reilly is SI's Ironman. Responsibilities: Conduct basic reporting and research. Make initial and follow-up calls to story sources and product companies. Call in products for photo shoots and returning items to suppliers when finished. Organize and maintain storage closet of products and supplies. Manage "editorial query line" by responding to reader voice mail messages. File product mail. Send editorial packages to This Old House TV personalities in Boston office. Assist editors with faxing and photo coping as necessary.
