*********** THE FIRST-EVER AUSTIN ED2010 HAPPY HOUR! THE WELCOME TO NYC INTERN PARTY! Ed in Minneapolis Tampa Bay Ed2010 The NYC Book Club is back!
***** As their movie is (mercifully!) released, it's time to turn the page on the Brad and Angelina melodrama. The problem with "Mr. & Mrs. Smith" is that people may well be tired of reading the shadowy rumors of romantic exploits between its stars Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie by the time the flick is released. That is pretty much the problem with Entertainment Weekly's cover story on the making of the movie. With no new plot twists to shed light on the romantic inclinations of the co-stars, the story is a bit of a bore. Much more intoxicating is a profile on Kathleen Turner, who talks honestly about alcoholism and her roller-coaster career. MORE ONLINE

First Amendment be damned! When Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie say they don't want to get personal, they mean it. Both stars are making journos who interview them sign a contract to that effect and if you break it, Jolie will sue you. Her lawyer, Robert Offer, sent out a letter stating: "Interviewer will not ask Ms. Jolie any questions regarding her personal relationships. In the event Interviewer does ask Ms. Jolie any questions regarding her personal relationships, Ms. Jolie will have the right to immediately terminate the interview and leave. The interview may only be used to promote the Picture. In no event may Interviewer be entitled to run all or any portion of the Interview in connection with any other story . . . The interview will not be used in a manner that is disparaging, demeaning or derogatory to Ms. Jolie." If an interviewer does not comply, he or she can be sued for an "undisclosed" amount, the document states. Pitt, meanwhile, noted in his contract with the journos that he's willing to talk about his charity work as well as the movie. Luckily, director Doug Liman gives juicy interviews and is not afraid to talk about Jolie and Pitt's "chemistry."

Janice Min, the tireless editrix w90ho took over the reigns at Us Weekly when Bonnie Fuller jumped ship to American Media, is involved in torturous contract negotiations with publisher Jann Wenner of Wenner Media, according to our spies. "They are trying to cheap her," one insider said of Min, who was declared editor of the year by Mediaweek. A spokeswoman for Wenner Media said, "Janice is under contract and there are no problems."
