************** ...that Reader's Digest is looking for a freelance assistant managing editor to work on a bi-monthly English-learning magazine in their NYC office. Applicants must have experience with Quark (be able to accurately input type and make other editorial changes.) The position is full-time starting in December, and could continue indefinitely for the right person. There may also be the opportunity to work on other Reader's Digest special projects and do some editing and writing. Please contact jennifer_doll@readersdigest.com with a cover letter and resume if interested. Please do not call. (OK to mention Ed) ...that Latina magazine has an opening for a market editor. Qualified candidates should send resumes to vsanchez@latina.com; if you have questions, contact HR Director, Tyrone Fripp, at 212-642-0226 or tfripp@latina.com. ...that Life & Style weekly needs a freelance photo researcher for the next few weeks/months. Must be able to multi-task and work long hours packing and unpacking for shoots and market call ins for fashion and accessories. Rate is $150-$200 depending on experience per day and you'll need to be available 3-4 days a week. If interested, please send resumes to jeanne.kasovitz@meredith.com. (Best not to mention Ed) ... that the women's website iVillage.com is still looking for a talented copy editor with some experience (but not ages' worth) to team up with their current (very lonely) copy editor. Duties include precisely editing a large volume of copy under deadline pressure; working with Website producers to improve stories and optimize content for search engines; line editing; trafficking copy; helping maintain (and determine) company's style; editing to fit company's voice; maintaining quality and consistency across site; and minor fact checking. (Sounds exciting, right?) Please send resumes and cover letters to jobs@mail.ivillage.com. (It's OK to mention Ed.) A copyediting test will be sent to candidates prior to an interview. Internship |
