Gold Christmas Design

Hello Dear Subscribers,

It is hard to believe it is almost at the end of the year.

In the next few weeks you most likely will be thinking of gifts to give to your family and friends at Christmas time.

Sometimes you may want to create a personalised design that is easy to make but has an individual touch.

This arrangement is like that, the green mesh wrap used In this arrangement gives it a designer look.

A minimum amount of materials have been used but the competed design looks quite stylish.

It would make a lovely gift for someone special at Christmas time.

The materials I have used are -
One large cream silk rose with gold glitter edging
Small gold and cream flowers
Gold berries
Small gold beads
Green and gold foliage
Gold leaves
Dodda vine
Gold tall container
Lime green mesh wrap fabric
Gold wide ribbon
22 gauge wire

1. Cut the stems off the flowers and leaves so only about 5cm(2") remains.
2. Cut the green mesh fabric to the desired width and length,I have used one metre (39") x 15cm (6") wide and gather along one edge with a long 22 gauge wire. Pull the wire ends together to form a circular shape to fit just inside the top edge of the container and twist the wire ends around each other and cut off the excess wire ends.
3. Using a hot glue gun secure the wired edge of the mesh inside the top edge of the container and fan the mesh out to sit attractively
4. Cut the foliage into sprays and glue them around the edges of the container.
5.  Make a four loop bow by forming the ribbon into two figure eights - one on top of the other having the bottom two loops fanning out and  a bit longer than the top two loops. Wire the bow by placing the centre of a 22 gauge wire across the centre of the bow. Bring the two wires straight down together and twist them together under the bow. Cut the wire ends short and glue the bow in the centre top of the vase.
6. Glue the large rose on top of the bow.
7. Positon the smaller flowers, leaves and berries around the rose and  between the loops of the bow and the foliage around the edges
8. Glue a couple of loops of dodda vine into the top in the arrangement.
9. Wind the smaller beads around the base of the vase

This arrangement is briefly explained.   In our Floristry Diploma Course we explain each step in detail with diagrams for each step, and measurements on how long to cut each stem and exactly where to position each one.

Testimonial
This is a testimonial from one of our students

Hello Fay,
I LOVED the course! I found it very informative and unique! My shop is unique as well. I specialize in weddings, funerals and corporate contracts. So I have no walk in business. I love it because I am a great believer of customer service. I take the time and sit down with my customers, I go to them and get extreme details on the event.
My customers love it! My work has unique details that another florist would have missed.
I have spoken with others here in the city that have taken the courses at the local college here in town (which is where they send their staff for training) and find that they only teach one way of doing things.
So most of the florists here in do all the same things.
Thank you so much for all your advise and coments.

Best wishes
Carol Ferguson,
USA
