And so is my Birthday. I will be 33 on the 18th. I always thought that I would be further ahead than where I am at, by now. Well I guess it is safe to say...never plan on your plans. Just keep your eyes on the goal and keep trying to get there. It is ok, I have allot of experience behind my belt now. I know allot of what not to do...<<smiles>>. I have spent more of my time with my children since Frayne had passed away, I don't regret it one bit. I am just sorry it took medical problems for me to realize just how short life really is. Like many people I want a successful business, so I need to keep going. One step at a time. This Christmas I would like invite you all to sit down and take a look around you. And think...is this where you thought you would be at this point in your life? Where do you see yourself 5 years from now? Spending more time with your family should be right towards the top of the list. Don't let your goals get in the way of being with your loved ones. The Truth (Part 1) There is definitely no shortage in affiliate programs these days. Anyone with a product or service to sell, offers an affiliate program to the Internet public. "Make up to 70% in commissions, join today... Free affiliate program..." And why not? Affiliate programs are one of the best ways a product owner has to move his merchandise. It's called leveraging one's time. Making money through the work of others. If you have a product worth $10, you are going to have to go out and get 10 people to buy it, in order to make $100.00. You are but a single person, with 24 hours in a day. This represents your limitations in how much you can sell and how fast you can sell it. When you have affiliates marketing your product for you, these restrictions no longer apply. You are now making money on the time others spend marketing your product. Compare: 1 sale per day per person 1 sale x 1 person (you) x 7days = $70.00 @ $10 ea. 100% yours to keep 1 sale x 10 affiliates x 7 days = $700.00 @ $10 ea . 50% yours to keep... $350.00 Affiliate take home $35.00/per 7 days That's why it is a good thing to be the owner of an affiliate program. If you've got a good product, or even just good copy, you can make a lot of money. Obviously the affiliate doesn't make a killing, but if one works enough good affiliate programs simultaneously, money can be made. Of course, getting into a program at the get-go, will also be a factor in the income possibilities. Those who get in first and work it hard and fast, get pretty decent compensation. (But that is market saturation, and that is another story for another time.) Next time, we will talk about reseller's licenses and how they differ. Until then, remember that affiliate programs require work. You have to market them hard for them to pay off monetarily. Consider that before you jump on the next bandwagon.
