Kelsy George is a published author who spent a lot of years on the Canadian prairies—where winter meant “you didn’t do a lot of things once the sun went down”.
Before writing fiction, Kelsy wrote radio commercials, newspaper ads, and business video scripts for 8 years—“nothing that would make it on the USA Today list”.
Then she took off about 20 years to breed and show horses, and then dogs. After deciding she was too old to run around at top speed showing her Labradors and other’s Boxers and Dalmations, she retired gracefully from the scene, closed down her kennel and persuaded her husband to live someplace warmer than Edmonton, Alberta.
As soon as he retired, they loaded up their travel trailer and headed to Vancouver Island where she writes, chases deer from her flower beds, and has discovered that evergreen trees actually stay green year-round—at least in the more moderate climate.
After taking a creative writing course from a TOR published
author (and working for her publishing company for a year), Kelsy has managed to publish two works of fiction, with a third in the editing phase.
About Kelsy’s publisher: Cerridwen publishes both e-books and books. The books come out first as an e-book. Blind Justice came out in March as an e-book and will be released at the end of September in print.
Blind Justice has won two Golden Heart awards, in 2004 and 2005. It also placed second in her local chapter of RWA.
Kelsy is also a moderator with the online group http://groups.yahoo.com/group/crimescenewriter/
