He graduated from the University of California, Irvine with a Bachelor’s degree in English. After six years as an athletics administrator and high school basketball coach, he quit to be a stay at home dad and full time writer. His first book, Killer Swell, was published by Dutton in 2005 and landed on the bestseller lists of The Los Angeles Times, The Denver Post and the Independent Mystery Booksellers Association.
