CHAT WITH MICHAEL MURPHY

www.mjmurphy.com

Michael Murphy has lived in Arizona most of his life. A former journalism major at Arizona State University, he set aside his writing and concentrated on starting a family and a business career.

With a wife of thirty-five years, two children and eight (yikes!) grandchildren, he began writing again in 1999. His debut novel, a mystery called Try and Catch the Wind was published February 1 by Wings ePress. His next novel, based on a year that shaped his development--for better or worse--is Class of '68.

Murphy's third novel, Secrets of Sheridan Manor is a sequel to Try and Catch the Wind and was just released July 1. Cold File will be released October 1. The third in his Casey Bannister mystery series, Cuts Like a Knife will be published by Wings February of 2008. A spinoff of the series, Ramblin' Man will be published in May of next year. His current work in progress is a suspense thriller called Scorpion Bay.

Funds for the Essayist - Now here is a compilation of markets you probably didn't expect. But essayists love their craft! The thought of stating a case, fleshing it out, and proving a point is an addiction to some. Essays are often considered intellectual pieces and at other times considered just simply nonfiction. Either way, they are wanted in a good number of venues from literary journals to contests and magazines. And some like The New Yorker, pay pretty darn well.

DOOR PRIZE

Michael has donated a paperback of one of his books, winner's choice. This will be awarded to a lucky chatter at the mid-point of the chat. Remember, you MUST be present to win!

Please feel free to pass this announcement on to anyone or any groups that you think may be interested.  Thank you.
