Marketing is a serious game where it is possible to have a lot of fun.
There are very strict rules in this area, but don't worry, we need to
study and master the rules then comes the fun.

This process can always be improved in the course of time, but that
decision is ours to make, and no one else can make it for us. In return
we can possibly transform and adapt ourselves to a very changing
and complex marketplace with the open goal to become and remain
successful. And this is very funny.

A lot of people may say the Internet has made traditional marketing
obsolete, but they are wrong. This new technology has developed
and diversified the process in many ways, without changing the
foundation of marketing.

Basic, traditional marketing is as relevant as ever.
The Four P's - Product, Price, Place (distribution), and Promotion -
are still very much alive. At the same time, the old tactics as strategic
thinking, segmenting, and targeting can still win an advantage inside
of competition

Start the funny game of marketing by planning. Having no plan is the
biggest mistake of your life. It's possible not to have clearly defined
in your mind your target market or how to reach it. Then take it easy
and write down what you want to accomplish, what are your goals.
Then ask yourself what are the right ways to achieve the proposed
goals and step by step you can have the plan in front of you.

Before to put it in practice take care if your plan contains :
1. Separate strategies and tactics to address each approach suggested
    by your goals and accomplishments.
2. Checking points.
3. A real method of evaluation of your progress. This make easy to
    decide if you're on the good way or you need to make corrections.

A final note. The logic of the action is what's important.

Only one of every 5 businesses makes it to its 5th year, and fewer
still make it to 10 years.  What do the successful businesses have
in common?

1. The experience and skills of the top managers. Over half of
business failures are directly related to managerial
incompetence.

2. The energy, persistence and resourcefulness (the will to
make the business succeed) of the top managers. Many business
owners have failed or come close several times before their
"instant" success. Don't give up.

3. A product that is at least a cut above the competition and
service that doesn't get in the way of people buying. There
must be a compelling reason to buy; the product is great, the
people love to provide service, and the buying experience is
easy and fun.

4. The ability to create a "buzz" around the product with
aggressive and strategic marketing. Make scarce marketing
resources count. Do as much homework about your customers and
their choices as you can before investing your marketing
dollars.

5. Deal-making skills to sell the product at the highest
possible price given your market. It comes down to your
customers' perception of the value of your product and
sometimes the power of your personality.

6. The ability to keep developing new products to retain and
build a customer base. Consider gradual product development
based on improvements to the current product line and sold to
the current customer base.

7. Deal-making skills to work with resource suppliers to keep
costs low. Keeping costs lower than competitors' and
continuing to look for cost reductions even when the business
is profitable is key.

8. The maturity to treat employees, suppliers and partners
fairly and respectfully. Trust and respect result in
productivity increases in ways that may be difficult to see
and quantify.

9. Superior location and/or promotion creating a connection
between your product and where it can be obtained. Studies
have shown it can take seeing your product or name seven times
before a customer is ready to buy.

10. A steady source of business during both good economic
times and downturns. Over the long term, develop a product mix
that will include winners during good economic times and other
winners when times are tough.

Want a simple, low-cost way to boost your sales? Just
uncover the narrowly defined sub-markets hidden in your main
market. Then create special versions of your advertising to
focus on the specific needs of prospects in these hidden
market segments.

1. How to Find Your Hidden Markets

Start by evaluating your existing customers. Look for groups
of customers with similar characteristics you do not
currently cater to in your advertising. Then create new
versions of your sales message appealing to their specific
needs. You will attract a lot more customers just like them.

For example, the owner of an accounting service marketing to
small businesses noticed that many of his new clients were
landscapers or insurance brokers. Therefore he created
separate web sites highlighting the unique benefits his
service provided to clients in each of these businesses.

The two sites looked similar, but their sales content was
customized to appeal to the specific needs of potential
clients in each market. Visitors to either site probably
assumed he specialized in working with companies in their
industry. Within 2 months he was able to increase the number
of new clients from each group by over 25 percent.

Tip: You can also narrow the appeal of an existing web site
without losing its effectiveness with your main market. Just
create customized web pages for each market segment you want
to target. Then add a link to each of these specialized
pages on your home page.

2. Adapt to Your Customers and Become a Specialist

As you work with a lot of customers and prospects in a
narrowly defined market, you gain special insight into how
they think and what they need. You will be able to
communicate with them as in "insider" using their own
special vocabulary and style.

Prospects and customers will think of you as being "one of
us" ...a specialist who caters to their unique needs. They
will want to do business with you because you understand
their special situation and know exactly what they need.

As a specialist you also eliminate much of your competition
...even if their prices are lower. Most customers will pay a
little more to buy from a specialist so they can avoid the
risk of doing business with a competitor who has little or
no understanding of their special needs.

Bonus: When you deliver results as a specialist you also
establish yourself as an expert in your field. Customers
will proudly refer other prospects to you. They appreciate
what you did for them and are confident you will deliver the
same results for others.

You can boost your sales significantly by using the two
simple, low-cost steps revealed in this article. Just (1)
identify the narrowly defined sub-markets hidden in your
main market. Then (2) become a specialist catering to the
unique needs of the customers in each of these sub-markets.

The question of whether or not all doctors are influenced by
perks still remains to be seen. Drug companies constantly give
perks to doctors in hopes that they will write a prescription for
their drug over their competition. Perks range from pens to
lunches to baseball games to fancy trips. Drug companies spend on
average $15 billion a year, around $10,000 for each doctor, to
influence their prescribing habits.

Some studies indicate that doctors remember these perks and are
more likely to prescribe drugs when they have free samples. Most
doctors say that they do not feel influenced by free gifts from
drug companies. However, a New York Times article revealed that
drug companies in essence manipulate doctors, sometimes without
them even realizing it.

Do you find that your toolbars are filled with things that never
get used? Or are missing the things you use most? Well, just add
or delete whatever you need.

In your top toolbar click on

View ...
Customize ...
Commands

You will see a list of all of your menus in the left pane.
Highlighting any one will display all of the commands from that
menu on the right. If you see one you'd wish to add to your
toolbar, just left click and while
HOLDING DOWN THE MOUSE BUTTON
drag it up to the toolbar.

When you see a black line appear where you want to put it, let go
of your mouse button and it will drop in there.

To remove any you don't want any more, just left click and drag
them off the toolbar and drop them any where. They'll disappear.

You can do lots of customizing to your toolbars while you have
this box open. Dig around in there and see.

Just remember that these options are only available if you have
the Customize box open. If you make changes you don't like and
can't figure out how to get things back the way they were, just
click on the Toolbars tab in this box and hit the "Reset" button.
Everything will go back to the defaults!

Two tourists were driving through Nova Scotia. As they were
approaching Tatamagouche, they started arguing about the
pronunciation of the name.
They argued back and forth until they stopped for lunch. As they
stood at the counter, one tourist asked the employee," Before we
order, could you please settle an argument for us? Would you
please pronounce where we are...very slowly?"
The clerk leaned over the counter and said,
"Burrrrrr ..... gerrrrrr ........ Kiiiing!

I was on vacation, playing the slot machines. It was my first
time in a casino, and I wasn't sure how the machines operated.
"Excuse me." I said to a casino employee.  "How does this work?"
The worker showed me how to insert a bill, hit the spin button,
and operate the release handle.
"And where does the money come out?" I asked.
He smiled and motioned to a far wall, "Usually at the ATM."
