Traffic Tips - Ten Steps To Grow Website traffic
*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*
by Brian Pratt

If you own your own website or have a page supplied by
a program, growing website trf^fic will be one of the keys
to your success. You need a growing, self-generating stream
of website trf^fic and plenty of it. Preferably fr^ee and
preferably preconditioned to buy your product of service.
This article provides some ideas for growing website traffic.

<1> Directories:
Directories are website listings. The trick is to find
a directory which receives huge volumes of website traffic.
Start by applying for listings in Yahoo, DMOZ and Looksmart.
These are huge portals with significant website trf^fic.
Getting listed isn't easy but once achieved you will see
a significant lift in your website trf^fic. Look at other
directories but make sure they have a good trf^fic rating
(use Alexa).

<2> Traffic Exchanges:
Every website you view in a traffic exchange generates
credits which are exchanged for views of your site. This
website trf^fic is fr^ee and can be generated almost
instantly. The more sites you view the more people visit
your website and the more your website traffic grows.

<3> Article Writing
One of the most effective methods of generating website
traffic. Best of all its free. Magazines, Ezines and
Webmasters are always looking for fresh content. Just write
an article on any topic which interests you, optimize it for
keywords and be sure to include your website URL in the bio
line at the bottom of the article. Then submit it to ezine
directories on the web. This will generate website trf^fic
and create backlinks to your site, which in turn helps with
search engine rankings.

<4>Search Engine Optimization:
Making sure your website is search engine friendly will
certainly help grow your website traffic. Ensure all the
meta and alt tags are completed, optimize the text for your
chosen keywords, ensure there is an H1 header, update your
robots.txt, update your google site map and ensure google
is alerted each time you make a change. There are a number
of sites which provide a "spider simulation" which shows
you what your site looks like to a spider and what you can
do to improve its search engine ranking.

<4> Blogs:
Ensure your blog is located on your site, that it links
to your key pages and that you ping each time your blog
is updated. A regularly updated blog will attract readers
which in turn builds website traffic.

<5> Forums:
Leaving your URL in forums will generate website traffic
in two ways. First, people who read your post are likely
to hit the link to checkout your site. Secondly search
engines will generally accept the link a counting towards
your link popularity.

<6> Viral Advertising:
If you have a message and you tell 10 people and they
each tell 10 people and so on, by the time the message
goes through 10 levels it has been passed on to a million
people. A similar principle can be used in marketing.
If you produced a fr^ee report or ebook filled with links
back to your site and gave it away, the chances are those
you gave it away to would do the same thing. Your links
would be spread all over the Internet and your website
traffic will grow.

There are also couple of viral websites which successfully
use the same principle to grow website traffic. Follow
the link in the resource box below to see some examples.

<7> Reciprocal Links:
By swapping links, webmasters hope that people will click
on their link in other websites thereby generating website
traffic. This strategy is one of the very best ways
of generating free, targeted website traffic and should
be high on your list of priorities. It also is highly
rated by search engines.

<8> Classifies Ads:
Do a search for "classified ads" and you will find many
sites, which accept classified advertisements. Make sure
you place your ad in a site complimentary to your product.
Generally sites at the top of google/yahoo searches will
perform better than those lower down. Again make sure the
site you are placing your ad on has a high traffic rating
or it will not assist with your website traffic.

<9> Pay Per Click Advertising:
Programs like Google's Adwords will deliver pre-qualified
targeted website trf^fic to your site. I have found this to be
an excellent way of delivering high converting website traffic.

<10> Expired Domain Names:
Some expired domain names are still receiving traffic.
If you are lucky you can pick one up quite cheaply.
These can provide a very cheap source of long-term website
traffic. The greater your website traffic the closer
you will come  to your goals. I hope this article will
help you grow your website traffic and reach those goals.

Web Design Tips: Designing A Website That Sells
*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*
Copyright 2005 Sandi Clements

Would you buy meat from a grocery store that left the bad meat in
with the good meat or wasn't clean? Would you buy a car from a
sales lot that had totaled automobiles on the front lot? I wouldn't
and neither would you. Your website is your grocery store; your
car lot. You must have an atmosphere that is pleasing to buyers.
One that tells that buyer that you are not an amateur, but instead
a trained, seasoned professional. Your site is a direct reflection
of your product and that is why that having a well designed
website can make or break your sales.

The first thing to keep in mind when designing your
website, is "surfability". Take a few minutes a look around
at several web pages. What makes them appealing? Were there
some that you closed out of immediately? Why? Take notes
and do your research. Keep in mind that when a person
visits your site they have a goal in mind. They are either
seeking information or shopping for a product. Give the
person what they want without having to search for it. Be
sure that all the information on your site is relevant to
your product. Make the buyer think that they need your
product to solve their problem.

Your main page serves a very specific purpose. It should be
an avenue by which the customer can shop your site. It
should be easy to view and load very quickly. This is your
first impression and we all know that first impressions can
either close the deal or loose the deal. Make it simple. It
is best to have links that are easily viewable by the
reader that will navigate them to where they want to be.
Tables are often a great choice when deciding on a way to
design the main page of your site. Your main page should
load very quickly, chances are if it takes the page more
than ten seconds to load even on a 56k modem, the customer
will click away to save time, hoping to find the
information or product elsewhere. To increase the loading
speed of your main page you should avoid large graphics or
excessive graphics. To many banners or special effects can
cause a page to load slowly as well.

To make your web site more appealing to the eyes, you
should stick to mild colors. If your site is a content site
where the user will be doing a lot of reading, it is best
to stick to black and white. Color can be added when using
tables, as a way to brighten up the page, but remember to
keep the overall look of the page professional and
appealing to the audience that will be visiting most often.
Since screen resolutions vary among monitors, it is a good
idea to set the pixels to a standard 800x600. You may also
choose to set the tables in your web page to span a
percentage of the page rather than a set number of inches.
This will be sure to accommodate all screen sizes. You
should remember that a lot of Internet users will not use
the same browser as you, and therefore you should be sure
that your site looks as good on other browsers as it does
your own. You can do this by downloading several browsers
through which to look at your page.

Be aware of the fact that the overall look of your website
is a way to make money. The appearance of the site, if
designed properly, can be an excellent marketing strategy
for your product or service.

Health Tips: The Truth About Aspirin You Won't Like
*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*
by Ira Marxe

Back in February of 2003 I wrote that an Aspirin a day was not a
good idea. Actually I wrote that it was a very bad idea regardless of
what your doctor says.

At the end of this article I give you a list of 10 references to back up
this statement.

Aspirin has been around for over 50 years. Its primary and "original"
use was for pain relief until Tylenol and the NSAIDs such as Advil
came along and took over the pain relief field.

Aspirin was a billion dollar business. Its makers weren't going to sit
around and see their business slowly dwindle away.

So they looked around and some smart marketer looked into the big
killer, heart disease, and found a new use for aspirin as a blood-clot
fighter to prevent heart disease and stroke.

They then set about convincing the main stream medical profession it
needed to recommend aspirin to all their patients as a way to prevent
the big killer from happening to them.

Given all the money they spent on the doctors, this was easy. After
all, they have been telling patients to use aspirin for over half a century
anyway and were happy to find a new use. In addition, if the drug
companies tell you it works, then it must be so.

The new mantra to prevent heart disease became, "An aspirin a day
will keep the heart attack away", which worked to save the aspirin
drug industry and, in addition, even increase their profits. What a
sweet deal.

People have been popping aspirin for years like it was a vitamin.
Aspirin is a drug. There is nothing nutritious about aspirin.

Drug companies will say most anything to market their product. Take
a look at some of the other claims the aspirin producers are making
about the use of aspirin. They strongly hint ("studies suggest that..")
that their "miracle drug" cures, decreases, alleviates, or prevents:

Breast cancer
Migraine headaches
Hodgkin's disease
Alzheimer's disease
Prostate cancer
Cancer of the pancreas
Colon cancer
Birth defects
Leukemia Immune disorders, including AIDS
Amazing drug, isn't it? And that's only a partial list.

Some so called "experts" suggest that at least 95 percent of the
population needs to be on aspirin on a daily basis. You can bet
where that came from. But the dangers associated with
extensive use of aspirin are downright horrifying.

Researchers have reported that aspirin might, in fact, increase
your risk for stroke, heart attack, macular degeneration
(blindness), and cataract formation!

You didn't hear anything about these findings because no one
reported this in the popular press. So if you don't read medical
journals in your spare time, you probably missed these REAL
bits of news.

Here's what the researchers have to say:

40% of people who regularly take large doses of aspirin actually
demonstrated an Increased risk of both stroke and heart attack.

Regular aspirin users have a significantly increased risk of macular
degeneration with blindness! Aspirin use also puts people at a
44% increased risk of cataracts.

Of course, there's always the widely known increased risk of
gastrointestinal bleeding that accompanies aspirin. These findings,
and the conclusion they came to: "Aspirin shows no benefit in the
prevention of heart attacks," was published in two major
prestigious medical journals, the British Medical Journal, Lancet,
and the Journal of the American Medical Association.

Is there an alternative to aspirin to protect you from heart disease?
You bet there is. Cleanse the plaque out of your arteries and keep
them clean with the nutritional arterial cleansing formula GHS PlusT.

If you're thinking of emailing me to tell me I am crazy because,
"My doctor said etc, etc, etc," don't, because you're totally wrong.
Do your own research. ch^ck out the references below and you
will find out that I am right.

Someone once said: "If you need a prescription for a drug - go see
a doctor. If you need to get cut open and have surgery - go see a
doctor. If you want to be AND stay healthy - do NOT see a doctor!"

SMILEs :
*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*

A couple had been married for 45 years, had raised a brood of 11
children and were blessed with 22 grandchildren. When asked the
secret for staying together all that time, the wife replied,
"Many years ago we made a promise to each other: The first one to
pack up and leave has to take all the kids."
---

At a session with a marriage counselor, the wife snapped at her
husband:
"That's not true! I do so enjoy sex!"
Then, turning to the counselor, she explained:
"But this animal expects it four or five times a year!"
---

Two elderly gentlemen were having coffee in the resort hotel the
morning after their double wedding to their respective elderly wives.
Jim said, with concern, "I'll have to see a doctor when I get home, I
couldn't consummate my marriage last night."
"Well, really," says Bob. "I better see a therapist then - I didn't
even think of it!"
---

The man walked over to the perfume counter and told the clerk he'd
like a bottle of Chanel No. 5 for his wife's birthday.
"A little surprise, eh?" smiled the clerk.
"You bet," answered the customer.  "She's expecting a cruise."
