HomeBiz Tip: How To Select The Perfect Home Based Business
*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*
by BB Lee (C)2005

Remember your school days. The dreaded day when you took
the state wide career assessment test. A test that spanned
several hours? An exam to expose your strongest career
interest. And then when you received the results you were
surprised at their findings.

You were detailed oriented and good with mechanical things.
Or you were an outdoor type and scientifically inclined. This
ultimately left you puzzled.

Fast forward several years. Job evaluation or career assessment
exams might cost several hundred dollars. But, listen very
closely to this. I am going to let you in on a little secret.
You will easily select the perfect business with the following
brief business/career evaluation test.

This article will show you an easy way to select the business
that is right for you! One that perfectly matches your skills,
background, and abilities. So grab a sheet of paper or open up
your text editor and let's get started!

First, list all the business ideas that you are considering on
a sheet of paper in the order of your interest. Try to narrow
your list down to about five choices or less.

Now, list the idea that you are really crazy about first. The
idea that you like least in last place.

Once you have your list of business ideas you will rate them
on a scale of 0 to 3.

0-none
1-less than average
2-average
3-above average

Next, you will score each idea according to the following
categories.

Your Knowledge:
What do you know about this business idea? Will you need
to seek further education or training. Will you need
to consult professionas?
Rating:
0-no knowledge
1-some knowledge
2-limited knowledge
3. working knowledge

Experience:
Many people might have knowledge about an interest but limited
experience. Perhaps you know everything there is to know about
cars. But have you ever worked as a car mechanic? Or you are a
whiz at designing web sites but have you ever worked for a web
site developer?
Rating:
0-no experience
1-indirect experience
2-limited experience
3- familiar with the business

Skills:
Concentrate on the skills that are essential to that business
idea. To what extent do you have those skills. Will you need
to upgrade your skills to enter this field?
Rating:
0-none
1-limited skills
2-some skills
3 extensive skills

Entry:
What will it cost you to enter this field? How about the
competition? Is the market in your area filled with others
running this type of business? If you operate the business
out of your home the cost will be much less than leasing a
business office or building. But if there are a few dozen
operating the same type of business in your local
area your pool of customers will be limited. Thus entry
into this field might be very difficult.
Rating:
0-crowded field
1-limited entry
2-limited competition
3-Unrestricted entry

Unique:
Are you providing the same service as others in your
competing area? Is there something that is different about
your service or product? Are you providing something that
others in your area are not? For example if you are starting
an auto repair service you might offer free car wash with
service or a discount. Or if you offer a web design service
you might provide search engine optimization
along with free submission to top search engines.
Rating:
0-Service widely available
1-Only a few are offering the service in your area.
2-One or two in your area
3-None providing this service in your area.

Chart Example Follows
------------------------------------------------------------------
Biz Idea Knowledge Experience Skills Entry Unique =Total
------------------------------------------------------------------
1.
------------------------------------------------------------------
2.
------------------------------------------------------------------
3.
------------------------------------------------------------------
4.
------------------------------------------------------------------
5.
------------------------------------------------------------------

Now Tally up your scores in the right hand column. Which idea scored
high? Great! Go for it! You now know the perfect home business for
YOU! And it only cost a few moments of self evaluation. And
ultimately
might lead to life long profits.

Sale Tip: The Simplest Solution to Customer Satisfaction
*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*
Copyright 2005 Jason Tarasi

"Thank you for calling XYZ Company.  Your call is important
to us but not important enough for us to answer it.  Please
hold for eternity or leave a message and a representative
will contact you as soon as it is convenient for us."

If you've ever used the telephone to contact a business you
can relate to the frustration that can result from voice
mail or automated answering services.  Undoubtedly, when
they first became "the way to do business" it was extremely
annoying; however, times are changing, folks are automating
and imprudent business practices such as this are gaining
acceptance (or at least tolerance).

Of course the ole' time principles of customer services -
such as answering the phone before the third ring, avoiding
putting a customer on hold if at all possible, and
providing personal service - are still superb solutions to
customer satisfaction.  But, in our automated world, it is
vital to recognize the importance of responding to
customers quickly and appropriately, especially if they
have been forced to listen to a long recording and traipse
through a jungle of push buttons in order to leave a
message for you instead of being afforded the luxury of
speaking to a warm-blooded human.

Whether a customer makes contact in person, via telephone
or through email, businesses should strive to provide a
timely, if not an immediate response.  Customer
satisfaction is reliant on responsiveness.

So, you may ask, "What is a timely response?"

Honestly, the definition of a timely response really
depends on the customer's perception.  The urgency of their
need may play into the mix or their idea of a timely
response may be linked to their expectations.

For some reason there is a perception amongst business
people that a 24 hour response to a customer inquiry is
sufficient.  From the customer's perspective; however,
having to wait 24 hours for a quick answer to a simple
question or a viable solution to a serious problem is
ridiculously aggravating and neglectful on the part of the
business.

When customers have a bad experience, from the customers'
perspective, they are sure to seek other options for
fulfilling their needs.  Plain and simple - poor customer
service results in lost business.

Regardless of the type of business you are in and whether
you receive customer inquiries via telephone, email or a
website contact form, it is absolutely critical that you
get back to your customers right away.  Placing
responsiveness at the top of your customer service
objectives is the simplest solution to gaining a
competitive advantage, producing satisfied customers,
maintaining your customers through repeat business, and
building your market share through client referrals.
Responsiveness is the single most important factor to
enhancing customer satisfaction.

Health Tips: Eat Fish to Sustain Mental Health
*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*

The essential omega-3 fatty acids found abundantly in fish
have been shown to help reduce the risk of stroke, boost
heart health and benefit we^ght loss. A study published
in the Archives of Neurology finds that regular weekly fish
consumption can also protect the brain against the
degenerative dementia that occurs with old age. According
to the study, individuals who ate fish for at least one meal
a week exhibited a 13% lower risk of dementia than those who
consumed fish less than weekly. The study's authors noted
that the lower risk held true even when non-fish eaters
increased their consumption of other healthful foods such
as fresh fruits and vegetables. Fish lovers were also shown
to experience a lower risk of developing obesity.

Fish Boosts Fetal Brain Development:

They don't call it "brain food" for nothing. According
to a new study published in the journal Environmental
Health Perspectives, consuming low-mercury forms of fish
during pregnancy can significantly boost fetal brain
development. The study found that infants born to women

who regularly consumed fish such as canned light tuna and
salmon scored significantly higher on cognitive development
tests administered at six months of age. Public health
officials have warned pregnant women to avoid certain
fish species that tend to test high in mercury levels,
such as shark, swordfish and mackerel. However, some fish,
including canned light tuna and salmon, have been identified
as being both low in mercury and rich in brain-boosting
omega-3 fatty acids.

"When water becomes ice, which of its physical properties increases?"
Everyone answered, "Its volume increases."

"When water becomes ice, its price increases."

"But you don't understand," said Hershberg.
"I make men's clothes!"
