__Several groups will file a lawsuit against Theosophy Trust next month because
we will not accede to their demands to stop publication of the Raghavan Iyer
HERMES articles on our website, theosophytrust.org, and in our books. One of
those Santa Barbara groups - the so-called "Universal Theosophy Fellowship", or
"UTF" - alleges that the copyright permission granted to us by Sri Iyer is not
valid, and that only they have the legal right to publish his HERMES writings.
__We have sought to avoid any conflict with these groups, but they insist upon
total compliance with their demands, and will not allow us to exercise our
clear legal right to publish these materials. These groups have elected to
resort to legal force to enforce their demands upon Theosophy Trust; to respond
to this threat, we must, unfortunately, raise enough money to pay for legal
representation in this lawsuit, or Theosophy Trust will face the prospect of
closing down this site and destroying our books.
__Some of our friends and supporters have already given us their financial
support, and for this we are most grateful. But legal representation is very

The Secret Doctrine establishes three fundamental propositions:

An omnipresent, Eternal, Boundless, and Immutable PRINCIPLE on which all
speculation is impossible, since it transcends the power of human
conception and could only be dwarfed by any human expression or similitude.
It is beyond the range and reach of thought - in the words of Mandukya,
__Recently, Theosophy Trust has been threatened by various groups with legal
action related to materials we have published on our website,
theosophytrust.org (http://www.theosophytrust.org/). These groups have demanded
that Theosophy Trust remove certain articles from our website and stop the
publication of our books containing those articles. Because Theosophy Trust is
more interested in maintaining a peaceful existence than in fostering
unnecessary conflict, we have complied with these demands to the extent we
think is reasonable and necessary; unfortunately, the legal threats have not
abated. If you wish to help preserve the free and open access to the materials
published by Theosophy Trust, we would sincerely appreciate your financial
support of our legal defense. You may click on Donations (http://
www.theosophytrust.org/donation.php) and send us your financial support, or you
may send us your comments, concerns, or questions by clicking Contact Theosophy
Trust (mailto:Editor@TheosophyTrust.org). We gratefully acknowledge all those
who have donated to Theosophy Trust.
doctrines, the nomenclature of the Wisdom Religion, so that when the next
century shall have seen its 75th year the new messenger coming again into
the world would find the Society still at work, the ideas sown broadcast,
and thus to make easy the task which for her since 1875 was so difficult
and so encompassed with obstacles in the very paucity of the language, -
obstacles harder than all else to work against.
