British writer and environmental activist George Monbiot’s latest book Heat: How to Stop the Planet from Burning burns with passion. Monbiot’s stated purpose in writing the book is to “encourage people not only to change the way they live but also to force their governments to make such changes easier.” He bluntly declares that the changes necessary to cut “carbon emission is compatible with the survival of an advanced industrial civilization.” Continue reading
