Dear A to Z Recipes subscriber: As part of planned improvements to the A to Z Recipes newsletter and the A to Z Recipes web site, some changes will be taking place. All of them affect you. This special message should serve as notice and explanation of some of those changes. First, allow me to thank those members who contribute to this publication. Most of them are subscribers with whom you are familiar. You see their names in issues posted along with their contributions of recipes, humor, etc. in various areas in the newsletters. There is another small, select group to whom I owe thanks. You may not have become familiar with them as they are financial contributors. I choose to keep the list unpublished as making it a public matter is improper (to me). Some publications will post the names of contributors and the amount in which they donate. I believe this serves no purpose as many make very small contributions and their value to me, as a person, is not based on what they donate. It is based on the fact that they DO donate. Therefore, it is a personal and not public matter. The donation system has not been extremely profitable for this publication. I'm sure you will agree, purchasing a recipe book for (let's say) $25 that contains 200 recipes, is a sound investment. However, donating even one-tenth that amount to a publication that brings you 200+ recipes each month seems like a poor one. I have learned (the hard way) that it is only human nature to latch onto things that are free, whether you'd pay for them or not. I have also learned (from my upbringing) that some things are worth paying for because they are meaningful. When I set aside so many hours to prepare issues for my subscribers, it is my intent to produce a meaningful publication. And it is. My financial reward for that effort has not been great. However, I hope to attract new subscribers with the changes (outlined here and in tomorrow's issue) that will perhaps possess that aspect of human nature that results from one's upbringing. In other words, who consider paying for something meaningful "proper". Many of the changes to take place tomorrow will be covered in that issue. Zinester, my list provider, will make a switchover of the A to Z Recipes posting format. If your browser (or personal preference) precludes reading tomorrow??™s newsletter, then you have two choices. One, you may view the newsletter on the web site (yes, the one that 95% of you have NOT visited). I will provide the link later here and you should bookmark it. Or, you may unsub- scribe. I will provide that link, too. I believe once you see the "new" newsletter, you will love it. I had a test team view the new format. It was a resounding success. There is no doubt...it is an improvement for you. But, allow me to add this: it is an improvement for me and in time I spend publishing. I would love the time for my family. They have given A to Z Recipes a few years already. It is "their time" I will have saved. Thank you for reading this notice. It is impossible to imagine having no support while doing these issues. While I could use more, please know that I am grateful to each and every one of you who has been a "participant" in A to Z Recipes.
