Publisher's Desk...
Good morning to all and I hope this finds you well. As for me and mine, we are doing just fine. This is my one day off so I have a lot planned. A major item on my list is actually an entire list of things called ???Angela??™s Birthday Party???. Yes, my youngest daughter will be celebrating her 15th birthday and will have a party. We have some activities lined up for the kids which will require that I do some shopping. THAT is what I will spend my day doing, along with housework, getting groceries for a few days, etc. I did sleep longer last night than I have in a while so I am rested and raring to go. Whatever keeps you busy this day, I hope it keeps you safe, too.
Important---please read
As some may recall in past few issues, I have made a special request right here for readers to vote for this newsletter. There has been no increase in votes as a result. And, as some of you who read the 2-week report of the ???honor system??? progress, there has been little response. What you may not know is that this publication is time-consuming but a task that I have grown to love. Some of you have grown to love it, too. For those who do, you have demonstrated your appreciation (a vote, a dollar, a recipe or joke) and I would like to take this opportunity to express my sincerest gratitude. It is you who have kept me going, my chin up, and focus clear on what is important. It is to you that I say: ???Thanks!???
Please remember:

Crazy Corner...
Husband Mart
Shared by Richard K., AR
A store that sells husbands has just opened in Ottawa where a woman may
go to choose a husband from among many men. The store is comprised of 6
floors, and the men increase in positive attributes as the shopper
ascends the flights.
There is, however, a catch. As you open the door to any floor you may
choose a man from that floor, but if you go up a floor, you cannot go
back down except to exit the building.
So a woman goes to the shopping center to find a husband.
On the first floor the sign on the door reads:
Floor 1 - These men have jobs.
The woman reads the sign and says to herself, "Well, that's better than
my last boyfriend, but I wonder what's further up?" So up she goes.
The second floor sign reads:
Floor 2 - These men have jobs and love kids. The woman remarks to
herself, "That's great, but I wonder what's further up?" And up she goes
again.
The third floor sign reads:
Floor 3 - These men have jobs, love kids and are extremely good looking.
"Hmmm, better" she says. "But I wonder what's upstairs?"
The fourth floor sign reads:
Floor 4 - These men have jobs, love kids, are extremely good looking and
help with the housework.
"Wow!" exclaims the woman, "very tempting. BUT, there must be more
further up!" And again she heads up another flight.
The fifth floor sign reads:
Floor 5 - These men have jobs, love kids, are extremely good looking,
help with the housework and have a strong romantic streak.
"Oh, mercy me! But just think... what must be awaiting me further on?"
So up to the sixth floor she goes.
The sixth floor sign reads:
Floor 6 - You are visitor 3,456,789,012 to this floor. There are no men
on this floor. This floor exists solely as proof that women are
impossible to please. Thank you for shopping Husband Mart.
Marriage
Shared by Larry Holmes, Ontario, Canada
A typical macho man married a typical good-looking lady and, after the
wedding, laid down the following rules:
"I'll be home when I want, if I want, and at what time I want, and I don't
expect any hassle from you. I expect a great dinner to be on the table
unless I tell you otherwise.
I'll go hunting, fishing, boozing, and card playing when I want with my old
buddies and don't you give me a hard time about it. Those are my rules. Any
comments?"
His new bride said, "No, that's fine with me. Just understand that there'll
be sex here at seven o'clock every night, whether you're here or not."

SPICE APPLE CHEESE SPREAD

This is a wonderful spread for toast or biscuits.

1/3 cup crushed walnuts
2 tablespoons milk
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/8 tsp. nutmeg

ANN'S CROCKPOT CHICKEN STEW
Sent in by Ann, FL
I have sometimes found frozen boneless skinless chicken THIGHS(!) at Wal-Mart. They make life so much easier! I try to stock up when I find them, as they dont always have them.
Cooking spray (such as Pam, optional)
4-5 frozen chicken thighs (boneless & skinless if possible)
1 can chicken broth
1 can corn (drained)
1 can Italian cut green beans (drained)
1 can pinto beans (undrained)
1 can black beans (undrained)
1 can Great Northern beans (undrained)
1 can tomatoes (I like the diced and get various flavors; this time I used onions, green peppers & celery.)
1 10-oz can tomatoes with green chiles (such as Ro-tel)
1 envelope onion soup mix
1 4-oz can mushrooms (drained)
1 very small (2-3 oz?) can sliced black olives (drained)
1 can Campbell's cream of chicken soup (I have found name-brand
canned soups superior)
I always spray my crockpot before using with a Pam-like product. Makes
clean-up so much easier.
Combine all ingredients in crockpot, cook 4-5 hrs on high
or 8-10 on low. There is enough salt & other flavorings in the soups
that I don??™t use any more.
My crockpot is several years old & only holds about 5 qts or so.
I really need a larger one! As I was putting these ingredients in
& the cooker had already started, I discovered there wasn??™t enough room
for everything. So I started spooning off the liquid into another bowl.
This could've been added back in later if needed.
I like my stew a little thick, so didn??™t add any liquid back in. It's in
the freezer now waiting for the next stew. I thought later if I didn??™t use
the can of chicken broth, I might have had enough space. (My recipes are
always "works in progress")
PS: When I drained off the cans of corn, green beans, etc., I saved the
liquid & used it to cook rice instead of plain water.
