Subject: Earthfare - February08, 2006

Back in August 2000, the Russian Navy suffered a mighty blow when the KURSK, a nuclear submarine, suffered a horrendous accident and was lowered to the sea bed in the barents sea.  An explosion occured in a torpedo hatch and 88 sailors lost their lives instantly.  23 sailors basically had to cannibalise, and died after.  The US and UK offered to help raise the sub but of course the USSR did not want this, as it had 24 weapons on board that the US and the UK had yet to see.
