Hello Subscriber From StereoBase!

Since I announced the forthcoming closure of the site, I've been inundated with messages of support and requests to keep it online.  Unfortuantely, I can't do that!  However, I am working with a number of fantastic websites who will be taking elements of the site so it lives on - I had many requests to keep the Collector's Centre available, and this is part of the site that the excellent www.wordgetsaroud.org site is taking on!

StereoBase is selling the majority of the massive collection we own, both through private sales (the list is available via the news service on the site) and on eBay.  There are 10 items per week being auctioned, with something aimed at every price range - each week there will also be at least one item which to the best of my knowledge has never been sold on the open market before!

There are 10 live auctions at the moment, when end this afternoon.  These are for:

• Demo tape!  Studio demos of Trees, Carrot Cake, a load of different version of Is Yesterday, Tomorrow, Today, couple of versions of Half The Lies, and two versions of Looking At The Mirror Falling which is unreleased!  This is an amazing tape - loads of band banter and it's not often you get to hear a song being born!
• Handbags US promo CD - great thing for new collectors and not expensive!
• US P&C party promo pack - this is really nice!
• YGGTTCB instrumentals - didn't ever make it to StereoBase - incredible to hear the album minus vocals!
• WGA 2CD - Aussie album with the very rare bonus acoustic CD - stunning!
• October 98 Japanese tour itinerary - a fascinating glimpse at life on tour!
• Sunday Times YGGTTCB promo CD - nice, especially as it's got 2 live track from the JEEP arena tour that have never been released anywhere else!
• HAND US Promo video - did you know there was a different video shot for America - here's the official promo - on VHS too so you'll be able to watch it in the UK!
• Performance and Cocktails Master Copy - never sold on open market before - this is the copy that went to the band and management for approval before production started.  An amazing item - if the band didn't approve this, it would have been back to re-mastering!
• JEEP USA promo with the lever case.

As you can see there are some pretty amazing items available!  I set opening bids at a realistic level, and try to avoid reserve prices - I will put a reserve on the really valuable things, but the reserve is always detailed in the auction itself.
