Hi there! This is my first of many? newsletters. First up? the site has gained a few more potters' marks this week? and is up to 160 thanks to Doris Dutch who kindly let me look at some of her pots. The interesting discovery this week was the Rick Rudd mark. On? the belly of a? lion of course. I think there may be a white cat lurking somewhere in the attic with? the same mark. Also I am investigating? Joyce Oliver's other mark, which is a J and Y combined. I believe I have found some examples also in the attic, which have a Pat Perrin style onion pot look to them. I am just waiting for conformation on that one from Joyce. On trademe.co.nz this week there is a second example of the? Michael Block mark, just a B in a box. The pot also has the potters' sticker to confirm this. I have also been on the case of the missing Peter Stichbury retrospective publication and have pinned down the publisher to probably an August 2005? release date. The latest addition to the site is the Associates page, which will feature a variety of different things. So far it features Barry Brickell's brickworks, and Helen Mason's new book 'Helen Mason's Scrapbook. Fifty years of backyard potting'. More to come later. And of course how can I not mention my? greatest thanks to my webmaster NJ who has done a fantastic job designing and creating the site? and at lightning speed. You are truly? the best. TC? |
