Hi Everyone, A big thanks to all those who emailed me to let me know that I conveniently forgot to let you know which day my gig is this week! It is on Thursday, July 26th. The email follows below, this time in it's complete, information-filled glory. Thanks, Matt Hey Everyone, I’d like to let you know about my band, and an upcoming gig we have. First, the band: Matt Dinsick: Drums, Encouragement Matt Garrison: Tenor Sax, Hot Knife Nick Consol: Piano, Unkempt Mediterranean Beard Molly Palermo: Double-Bass (aka “The Rookie”) It’s true that we’ve been playing around the area for about a year now, but most of the gigs have been private events, and the few public things we’ve been doing have still been supportive jobs. This is really the first gig we’ve had in a public place where we weren’t just background music, and I’m extra happy about that because the band, quite frankly, has never sounded better! We’re currently doing a lot of standards in a pretty straight-ahead style, and it’s been good to swing together with these guys. Now, the gig: The Matt Dinsick Machine Thursday, July 26th 10:30pm-1:30am The Carnegie Club 156 West 56th Street b/w 6th & 7th Aves New York, NY We’ve been here before, but this is the first night we’re not playing a birthday party or fund-raiser. This time, it’s totally public! No cover, no minimum either. So come out and see what’s been happening with us lately! Take care, Matt Dinsick The Carnegie Club is a smoking lounge: one of the few establishments within the five boros where you can enjoy tobacco products indoors. If you’re sensitive to secondhand smoke at all, please consider carefully your decision to come out to hear us, as there will be smoke in abundance there. |
