HOWEVER, you have to remember to reduce the amount of liquid in the recipe, because you use so much less "EQUAL" than you would "SUGAR". -=*=-Apple sauce or any mashed fruit of your choice can be used in place of sugar in many a recipe. -=*=-Instead of Chocolate you can use carob, which is very healthy & sugar free* as well, or use cocoa & add your desired fruit. -=*=-When making a substitution, make note of the liquid texture of your replacement to make sure your fruit etc. equals in liquid form, what the recipe calls for as the sweetener. *-=*=-* *-=*=-* *-=*=-* HONEY Substitution Formula 1 cup honey =1 cup sugar but decrease the liquid in the recipe by 1/4 cup for each cup of honey added. Add 1 tablespoon honey to your favorite cake mix recipe for added flavor. Lower the oven temperature 25 degrees when baking foods in which honey has been substituted for sugar. *-=*=-* *-=*=-* *-=*=-* -=*=-W!N "Russell Stover Chocolates" will be drawn for on 12/31/03. -Scroll to the bottom for -details. *-=*=-* W!N a Playstation 2 *-=*=-* W!N a Playstation 2, or a laptop computer, a flat screen monitor, an IPOD player, $250-Cash and a Flatscreen TV ( USA ) aol link *-=*=-* Fudge Cakes *-=*=-* Fudge Cakes These are very good soft cookies. 4 (1 ounce) squares dark, bitter, unsweetened baking chocolate 2 cups granulated sugar 4 large eggs 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract 2 cups all-purpose flour Melt the chocolate, being careful not to burn it. Using a wooden spoon or mixing fork, mix in the sugar. It will be pretty stiff. Thoroughly mix in the eggs & vanilla extract. Work the flour in thoroughly. The resultant dough will be very thick, sticky & heavy. Spread out on a greased baking sheet (you can use nonstick & a pan spray, if you like), about 3/4 inch thick. Bake in a preheated 350 degree F oven for 18 minutes only! You want them under-baked a little bit or you won't be able to chew them. Combine sugar & butter in a 1 1/2-quart saucepan. Cook & stir over medium heat until the mixture reaches 290 degrees F on a candy thermometer. Stir the toffee constantly while melting the brown sugar & butter. Remove melted toffee from the heat & cool slightly for about 5 minutes. Pour the mixture over the top of the walnuts in the pan & spread out in an even layer. Immediately sprinkle the top with the chocolate chips. Let the chips melt from the heat of the toffee, then gently spread the melted chocolate over the top of the hardening candy. If desired, sprinkle a few more chopped or ground walnuts on top of the chocolate while it is still soft and warm. Cool at room temperature until hard, at least 2 hours, then break into pieces & store in an airtight container. *-=*=-* Talking AutoPilot *-=*=-* =Get the AAA Certified Talking AutoPilot for your car ( USA ) aol link *-=*=-* -F-R-E-E-Surprise- *-=*=-* -=*=-W!N "Russell Stover Chocolates" for December!
