Hello everyone, Today was the big meeting with the Doctors. Apparently it was a very strange meeting. There was a team of Doctors & they told Kay & the family that they are baffled. IF Kyle hadn't started responding on the weekend, it was gonna be a very grim meeting...however, tests show that he really did not have a stroke. They said his blood pressure so high was what put him in an unconscious state. He DOES have brain damage, but, they don't know how much at this point. He has dropped 50 lbs. in these 2 weeks. He had EVERY symptom of a stroke, but, no stroke. He is responding minimally, but, not coherent in any way. They plan to do a Tracheotomy in the next few days, to avoid damage & to relieve his throat & mouth of the pain of having it the respirator there. They have tested hom off the respirator...he doesn't manage without it. They requested the Resuscitate or NOT to resuscitate form from Kay today...as they expect his heart to stop again when this surgery is done, because of the weakness there. IF his heart stops again...there will be furthur brain damage:( Kay wants him resuscitated at this point because..........she when she said today (I love you Kyle, if you want to say I love you to me, please squeeze my hand), after about 20 seconds, he squeezed her hand:) That is the piece of hope we are going with for now. Thank you, thank you for all the prayers! They work:) Good news on my sweet little neice:) Her brain is swollen & when the swelling retreats she should be ok...she will remain hospitalyzed until she is eating on her own. Beat in eggs, vanilla and liqueur. In a bowl, combine the flour, baking powder and salt. Add to the creamed mixture, mixing until blended. Fold in nuts and chocolate chips. Divide dough in half. On a greased and floured baking sheet, pat out into two logs about 1/2-inch high, 1 1/2-inches wide, and 14-inches long, spacing them at least 2 inches apart. Bake in the middle of a preheated 325-degree oven for 25 minutes or until lightly browned. Transfer from baking sheet to a rack. Let cool for 5 minutes. Place on a cutting board. With a serrated knife, slice diagonally on a 45-degree angle about 1/2" thick. Place the slices upright on the baking sheet and return to the oven for about 8 minutes longer to dry slightly. Let cool on a rack. Store in tightly covered container.
