Hi Again, Today Aug23/05 Ahhhhhh what can I say. The nurse reports movement in Kyle today. Moved his hand and leg on command (meaning she asked him and he responded) He also moved his eyes to the side of the bed she was standing on when she spoke. We/They are unsure as to whether or not Kyle can see ( They think he can see but can't determine of he is recognizing what he's looking at yet) Kyle is being moved to a (accute longterm care facility ) It's a hospital within OSU that rents it buidling from OSU. I was so very happy yo hear this as it's only one wing away from where he is now. He will be given Physio Therapy here every day and will be worked with and monitored more closely for progress. We hope and Pray harder then ever that this will be the last move he will have to make before he returns home to us. It will all depend on his progress. Oh yes today they took him off the ventilator and he has been breathing completely on his own for most of the day but they will return him to the vent this evening so he doesn't get too tired. The other thing at the new (placement) he will be weaned off the vent eventually. He could be in this place for a couple months. So please help us pray harder then ever for improvement so he is able to come home to us in good condition and able to enjoy life again. ( USA ) http://512media.net/ez/calpkskn/ *-=*=-*Chocolate Potato Cake w/Fudge Frosting*-=*=-* 1 1/2 cups sugar 3/4 cup butter 3 eggs 1 cup mashed potatoes (Instant is okay, but, "real" mashed is best) 1 cup sweetened condensed milk 2 teaspoons vanilla 2 cups flour 1/2 teaspoon salt 2 teaspoons baking powder 1 cup Ghirardelli's sweet powdered chocolate Or melted chocolate chips 1 cup of chopped walnuts, pecans, almonds, or macadamia nuts Cream sugar, butter, & eggs together. Add mashed potatoes, milk, & vanilla. Sift together flour, salt, baking powder, & powdered chocolate. Stir sifted ingredients into creamed mixture. Add nuts. Pour into greased & floured 9-inch x 9-inch pan, & bake at 350 degrees for about 45 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. When cool, frost with: Fudge Frosting: 1 12-ounce package chocolate chips 1 14-ounce can sweetened condensed milk 2 tablespoons amaretto, Kahlua, or Bailey's Irish Cream liqueur Mix together in heavy saucepan & stir over low heat until chocolate is completely melted. Let cool slightly & pour over cake. Serve warm, topped with whipped cream. Lightly coat a 9-inch pie pan with nonstick cooking spray. Combine crumbs in a small bowl or food processor (pulse to make crumbs from crackers). Add cocoa powder, Splenda, & margarine & stir or pulse. Add egg white & stir well, or pulse again. Pour crumb mixture into pie plate. With your fingers, the back of a spoon, or with a sheet of plastic wrap, press down on the crumbs until they coat the bottom & sides of the pie plate. Bake 8-10 minutes. Soften gelatin in 1/4 cup cold water. Set aside. Put 1/2 cup water in small saucepan. Whisk in cocoa, cornstarch, Splenda, & egg yolks. Place over medium heat & cook until thickened & smooth. Add softened gelatin & vanilla. Pour into a large bowl & let cool, stirring occasionally, until mixture mounds when dropped by spoon. In a medium bowl beat egg whites until frothy. Add sugar & beat until stiff but not dry. Fold into chocolate mixture. Fold in whipped topping & pour into prepared crust.
