Hello everyone, We took the kids in to see Kyle today & had a really nice visit. He was wide awake and glad to see us. He knew I was his wife....but struggled with my name and kids but said he knew who they were. He knows his own name.....and I held up a hummer truck and he couldn't get the name of it....so I said Hum and he said Errrrrrrrrrrrrrrr....., asked him the color he said yellow. He read the card Nikita made him.....quite well.......(Get well soon, I love you) etc. I gave him one of his game books and he read the title Computer games..... I took some of his things with us and I dont think he knew they were his and when I asked him if he wanted us to leave them for him to look at and show people he said no they might get stolen. He was looking around the room and said I love you and we replied that we loved him too. It was a sin though. He wanted a pop soooo bad or a drink of water and asked us to ask the nurse if he could have some....poor guy was dry...so we swabbed his mouth with a small sponge with water on it for him. He can't have drinks yet because of the trac it will go right down to his lungs......Oh they and the speaking thing on so he was talking and we could hear him this time, it was GREAT. Said he wanted to come home...asked why he couldn't....I told him he had to listen to the nurses and get better so he could come home and he listened real well. We took off his restraints and he was great. He didnt fight to get up and out at all for once. He asked several times how long he's been in the hosipital and what made him get sick. Before we left we all hugged with him and kissed him, and he looked at me and said (I'll try) to bet better. He told Tina he can't remember some things and appologized... A minister came in to see him and say hi....Kyle showed him his magazine. He had a little trouble controling it but he did very well. Minister was just standing there and Kyle so politely asked him (Did you want something?) we laughed. He asked Kyle if he could say a prayer and he said yes.....Kyle even closed his eyes when he did and he never does at home. I showed him our family picture from our wedding day, the one in my livingroom and he asked me (How did I get in this picture) LOL I told him I talked him into it but now that I think about he may have meant......he didn't remember. He's not aware he has tubes everywhere in him....he wanted to get up and sit but there wasn't enough staff to help. Also he asked Nikita to rub his legs with lotion and his arms. I asked him if he wanted his belly rubbed ( something I always did) and he pulled up his gown.... lol... He knows there are things he doesn't remember which I think is great that he realizes that....and I know it'll all come back to him. Kids were with us. He was GREAT with them.......Nikita cried she was so happy.....He hugged them well, talked to them, answered questions.... Nikita kissed him on cheek and lips and he kissed Kiefer on the cheek and Kiefer him the on cheek. Nikita asked him if they could have a dog or cat and he said (I don't care)....ya know he's not with it there yet....LOL But she wanted to know what he'd say. We were there for 2 & 1/2 hrs and he was sleepy when we left. When we told him where he was and why (again), he asked me to get the nurse and ask her where his food was......we asked if he was hungry and he said Yes....3-4 minutes later she came in and asked him if he was hungry and he said No....LOL, BUT he sure wanted a pop and he wanted diet pepsi by gosh. His manners are really pleasant...everything is simple. When they put the (thing) on his trac yesterday for him to talk during therapy his oxygen level went below 90...and they asked us to watch it tonight but it stayed right at 95. I left our family pic there and also a note book for people to leave us a message and tell us what they observed, also his game book and a search a word...thought maybe in time the therapist may get him to try finding letters and words. Once he looked around the room and out of the blue said he loved everyone here....*S* and when we went to hug him before we left, I asked, ya want a hug from Tina, and he said Ewwwwwww which he always teases her like that but he hugged her. The ewwwwww is one thing he didn't forget co's he always says that to her. We are so grateful for all of you, for your prayers, beautiful notes, thoughts, support, & love. Thank you so very much. You are greatly appreciated. Our love, Patsy & Kay PS if you would like to send Kyle a card? OR cheer up the kids with one?
