Hello everyone, Kyle is doing a little better every day. He was able to stand up for a minute yesterday, with a nurse on each side of him. We are pleased:) His physio is going well, but, we have another problem now....a very emotional one. Now that he is aware enough to want to make calls etc., he talks to Kay a couple of times a day. Last night she called him & he said he wanted to come home & sleep in their bed. She said, you have to get better first honey....then you can come home. He said I AM better. He doesn't know how sick he really is, that he hasn't had a drink or anything to eat for a couple of months. He repeated that he wanted to be home with her & the kids & then he started sobbing his heart out. What a sin! Kay was so upset she had to go...she asked for the nurse & said she would call back in a few minutes & could she calm Kyle down. When she called back, he was a little better. She told him to continue to do EVERYTHING he was asked in there, so he could get strong enough & well enough to come back home. The nurse said he would have a sedative because he was too upset to sleep. We sure are glad he's getting very slowly better, but, we sure have some heartwrenching things to listen to now. We are so grateful for all of you, for your prayers, beautiful notes, thoughts, support, & love. Thank you so very much. You are greatly appreciated. REESE'S Peanut Butter Chips 2 tablespoons vegetable oil 2 teaspoons vanilla extract, divided 2 cups (12-oz. pkg.) HERSHEY'S Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips 2 cups light corn syrup 1-1/3 cups packed light brown sugar 12 cups crisp rice cereal, divided Directions: 1. Line 15-1/2x10-1/2x1-inch jelly-roll pan with foil; extending foil over edges of pan. 2. Place peanut butter chips, oil and 1 teaspoon vanilla in large bowl. Place chocolate chips and remaining 1 teaspoon vanilla in second large bowl. In large saucepan, stir together corn syrup and brown sugar; cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture comes to full, rolling boil. Remove from heat. 3. Immediately stir half of hot mixture into each bowl; stir each mixture until chips are melted and mixture is smooth. Immediately stir 6 cups rice cereal into each mixture. Spread peanut butter mixture into prepared pan; spread chocolate mixture over top of peanut butter layer. Cool completely. 4. Use foil to lift treats out of pan; peel off foil. Cut treat into bars. Store in tightly covered container in cool dry place. About 6 dozen pieces. MICROWAVE INSTRUCTIONS: Place peanut butter chips, oil and 1 teaspoon vanilla in large bowl. In second large bowl, place chocolate chips and remaining 1 teaspoon vanilla. In 4-quart microwave-safe bowl, stir together corn syrup and brown sugar. Microwave at HIGH (100%) 5 to 6 minutes, stirring each minute, until mixture boils. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease and flour a 9 x 13 inch baking pan. 2. In a large bowl, mix together the oil, sugar and 2 tsp vanilla until well blended. Combine the flour, 1/2 cup cocoa, baking soda and salt; stir in to the sugar mixture. Fold in the zucchini and walnuts. Spread evenly into the prepared pan. 3. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes in the preheated oven, until brownies spring back when gently touched. 4. To make frosting, melt together the 6 tbsp of cocoa and margarine; set aside to cool. In a medium bowl, blend together the confectioners' sugar, milk and 1/2 tsp vanilla. Stir in the cocoa mixture. Spread over cooled brownies before cutting into squares.
