Grease cookie sheets. Using an electric mixer, beat shortening & sugar together in a medium mixing bowl until light & fluffy. Add vanilla & egg; mix well. Combine flour, baking powder & salt in a separate mixing bowl. Add to shortening mixture, mixing till soft dough forms. Stir in cranberries. Immediately drop dough by rounded teaspoonfuls onto prepared cookie sheets. Bake for 10 to 15 minutes or until golden brown. Transfer cookies to a wire rack; cool completely. Dip half of each cookie into melted chocolate & then in nuts. Allow chocolate to dry completely. Prepare & bake brownie mix as directed on package, using water, oil & eggs, in 13x9-inch rectangular pan. Cool completely. In chilled medium bowl, beat whipping cream with electric mixer on high speed until stiff. Gently stir in marshmallows & cherries. Spread evenly over brownies. Drizzle chocolate over top. Swirl chocolate through whipped cream mixture with knife if desired. Cover & refrigerate about 1 hour or until chilled. For servings, cut into 4 rows by 4 rows.
