The Specusphere Email Bulletin #005, November 2006 The Specusphere is going ‘to infinity and beyond!’ Dear Bulletin Subscribers, The time has finally come when time and technology have allowed us to upgrade The Specusphere to the kind of website we always envisaged. Over the next week or so, you should receive a registration confirmation email giving your new login details for The Specusphere. To login, visit the website and scroll down to the very end of the main menu (on the left). You will be able to change your details. And if you wish to become a collaborator, the option to add content will become available. Please read our submissions page for more information about how you can get directly involved with the website. It’s easy! The valiant efforts of our volunteer web-programmer Jason Jamieson (of Happy Puppy Design) are to be congratulated for he built the ‘old’ Specusphere website from the ‘ground up’ using .ASP. Webmaster Amanda Greenslade has taken the plunge and upgraded The Specusphere to PHP, using Joomla as our content management system. Requiring very few programming skills to accomplish, this face-lift has cost only 60 hours of labour and has totally rebuilt The Specusphere from articles through to directory. Check it out at www.specusphere.com To read more about the changes and what it will mean for all the speculative fiction collaborators involved, click here.
