Boss Sounds forms part of NewcastleGateshead's
world-class programme of events and festivals for 2007,
This year is set to be another
great year as Boss Sounds continues to identify reggaes impact on music
through introducing reggae’s presence in various cultural genres,
around the UK. Last year’s event featured Jimmy Cliff, Lee Perry and
Prince Buster, this year’s show continues the tradition to illustrate
the history of reggae music by bringing together many of its key exponents.
Culminating in two barnstorming shows at the Newcastle Carling Academy,
these shows will highlight the impact reggae has had on movements in
contemporary music and culture.
Newcastle is a cultural capital,
hosting a series of world-class festivals and events promoted in the
northeast including Boss Sounds.
