You know
how they say that what you focus on is what you draw to yourself?
Well, this week I got two more emails from major names on the
Internet giving away quality freebies I can pass on to you. First,
if you're interested in learning
to draw, Jacque Fresco is fairly well known as
having unconventional teaching methods he reckons can teach anyone to
draw like a master. Mark Joyner ran a competition for people
to vote for the worst drawing of several, then had him teach the
winners - you can see the before and after on
his blog here. That's
also where you can sign up for the free teleseminar he'll be running to
give YOU a drawing lesson live via the web or phone on Dec 3. Check
out the before and after, though, of one of the entrants in his 'worlds
worst artist' submissions - the boat in the after is pretty impressive
for having great perspective on it. Now
I'll give you the cut and paste of what Mark says it's going to cover
(and another freebie he just added)
You'll learn: -
A simple method for drawing a
cube perfectly that you can learn in minutes - even
if you are the world's worst artist -
Why
the moment you learn to draw will immediately begin to open limitless
horizons of visual expression (that extend well beyond what
you may imagine) -
How
drawing can instantly improve your ability to communicate - easily
surpassing those who do not possess this essential skill
-
6 surprising ways to turn your
new skill of drawing into money in your pocket .. -
Plus, just for showing up on the
call ... Exclusive
Report: The IQ Myth and the
3 Surprising Simple Ways to Really Improve Intelligence That Work
Almost Instantly. This report won't be offered
again anywhere at any price. You'll discover why the old
notion of "IQ" is extremely out-dated and why learning the new theories
of intelligence will give you more freedom and more brain power right
away. Plus you'll learn three surprisingly simple things you
can do to boost your true intelligence - in all its various forms -
almost instantly. Hint: learning to draw is only
one of them.
The second giveaway is from Rich
Schefren, who you probably all remember issued the report
some time ago called "The Attention Age Doctrine". I
recommended you wait for the full version, never having any idea it
would be so many months away (that's what happens when perfectionism
meets passion, right?). You've probably already received
heaps of emails about it this week, since absolutely EVERYONE is
promoting it, but I'll warn you now, it's NOT a light read, and it's
targeted around building an online business. I found it
fascinating for the insights into how we as people are changing as the
modern world makes major impacts into our lives. The
link to that one is here.PS You'll
probably also find this will be useful to know what kind of tactics are
going to be used in the salesletters you get from here on in as well!

| How To Make Goal Setting
Playful, Humorous and FUN |
Having
goals is supposed to be
very important for how much success you achieve in life.
We've all been told that many times already. No big
surprise there - it stands to reason that if you're not aiming for
something you're much less likely to actually hit a target.
But does it have to be this serious, all consuming process?
I don't think so.You see, when most
people think of goals they think of major life issues - achieving
millionaire status, looking like a model, getting a degree or something
equally HUGE. But goals, when you think about it, is
absolutely ANYTHING you decide you want to achieve, from cleaning up
the lounge before your mother arrives through to finding the perfect
shade of pink nailpolish for your toes (for all you guys out there, I
won't tell if you don't!) ;-) The reason we do
achieve most of these smaller goals is because they are so simple and
immediate, and we usually have either a consequence or a desired result
in mind, something like your mother's face when she walks in if you
still have yesterday's clothes on the lounge, or the look on the face
of that cute guy down the beach when he catches sight of your toes in
that adorable shade. You have a picture in your head and it
either motivates you towards something (a singleminded until successful
nailpolish hunt) or away from something (your mother's disappointment
or whatever negative reaction you think you'd get). You know
exactly what steps to take, and since there's so few of them, you tend
to just get straight through them. The
secret, then, is in the power of your mental pictures. And
this is exactly where
you can start having fun. Say you have a goal to
drop 10 pounds. That's a pretty common one, although if
you're one of the few wanting to gain that much you can use the same
process and just change your target pictures. OK, so you've
defined your goal. 10 pounds. At this
stage it's just words in your head. Not very motivating,
right? Enter step 1 - attach some motivational
pictures. This is where you let your creativity go mad.
If you prefer to work towards things, then get exaggerating.
See yourself in some designer outfit walking Nicole Kidman or
Brad Pitt down a red carpet, with all the cameras focusing on YOU,
ignoring them, and
everybody wolf whistling. Getting a bit of an emotional
charge yet? Ramp it up. Have the man or woman of
your dreams come running up and faint at your feet when you smile at
them, you're so stunning. Make a line of autograph seekers
start queuing up. How about all the fashion magazines
suddenly start zooming to a stop at the kerb so they can get photos?
How creative can you get at this stage? If you
prefer working away from something you don't want to happen, then you
do the same. Imagine yourself ballooning to the point where
you roll down the street because your legs can't reach the ground
anymore. You have someone come in the morning to drape a
parachute cloth over you with a hole cut in it for your head and arms.
Imagine not fitting through doors, unable to get into cars,
buses or even trains anymore. How else could you expand on
this picture? (pardon the pun) The best trick at this point is
to
actually use BOTH sets of images. Get them going to the point
of the ridiculous and make sure you have the emotional charge going
while you picture them. You could even use one of the online
goal setting services like the one at http://www.timequotient.com
to hunt down pictures that suit and create a goals page you can
print to keep
in front of you or carry around with you.
There's goalsetting software but without the picture
option within the free Simple-olegy course. If
the goal is a bigger one, then the next step is to set
yourself up milestones along
the journey, and daydream yourself images of the things you'll have as
rewards at each step of the way - one step at a time. You can
focus on your next reward, then, as well as seeing your towards and
away from images. It's important to have
something to look forward to, and most people don't do 'deferred
gratification' really well, so work with whatever best helps
you
keep the spirits up - if you had your weight goal then set up your
smaller target and envision yourself relaxing at a spa, shopping for a
new outfit, whatever you're going to use as your reward for the next
small target to keep the process fun.
Because, lets face it, if it isn't fun, you're much less
likely to stick with it. We're coming up to January and New
Years Resolution time and if you think back on your old resolutions no
doubt you'll agree it's true. The last
tip for this article is to remember to keep your steps small.
Think on how many of those small goals (clean lounge etc)
you've achieved compared to how many of the big lifestyle type ones.
Nothing wrong with going for something big, but as they say,
the way to eat an elephant is one small bite at a time (although being
a vegetarian I'm personally not going to picture that one!) Best Wishes,
Crystal N

Personal Note:
Back at work now
after my very short trip to Melbourne, which I thoroughly enjoyed.
Wish I could have more, and longer, holidays, but no doubt
you guys do too... Naturally, Melbourne and shopping go
together so I've pretty much got all my Christmas gifts taken care of
(yay!) but it did mean I had to sweet talk the airline check in lady on
the way back ;-) I've also opened an
account on Facebook, finally, so any of you that want to hook up with
me there I'd be honoured to connect (just please mention the ezine in
the message when you send your friend request so I know where you're
coming from). I've just had one interview that I think went
well, and have another coming up next week, so I'm hopeful to be in a
situation to take up my online passions in a proper way again soon. Fingers
crossed! Have a great week! |
