I passionately believe that each and every one of us has the RIGHT to feel good about ourselves. I also know that there are many things that make this all but impossible in the real world. We feel compelled to prove ourselves to everyone else by what and who we know, our job title, our income, our possessions - none of which really matters in the long run. What matters is who we ARE, and that should simply be enough.
How do I know this? I'm an abuse survivor, on multiple occasions. For a long time I felt like I was truly worthless, and just taking up space that someone else could use much better. It seemed to be something tattooed on my forehead somewhere, because I kept falling into situations where I was victimised again. A movie once said it best "when you're so low your chin is dragging on the ground". That was me. Then I finally got angry. I dragged myself back up, and turned my life around. Now I'm sharing my story to help others who feel the same.
My goal is to get the message out that there is no need to justify being alive. You just are, and that's a beautiful thing. Nothing more is needed, except that you live true to yourself. Can you imagine a world in which everyone is secure in themselves, feels free to follow their passions without worrying about the status or money it will bring, and live life with joy and collaboration instead of struggle and competition. I can, and I'm committed to do what I can to make it real, one person at a time.

Editor's Note

Hi and welcome! Hope all's going well for you. I'm now live with a blog at http://crystalnwoods.blogspot.com and using the techniques of the incredible guy I'm covering in this month's review I've managed to get THREE ebooks up to the website - "How to boost your self-confidence", "I can, therefore I will", and "Goal Realization Made Easy" - you can see them at http://www.self-positivity.com/ebooks.html - I'm also donating part of the proceeds from each sale to either World Vision, Fred Hollows Eyesight Program and the World Wildlife Fund - as well as of course for building new facilities for the site.

Take care, as always. Crystal

How to Blast Procrastination Forever!

Do you know anybody these days who doesn't procrastinate? Seems like with all the pressures we're under on a day to day basis, every one of us has things that we know we "should" be doing, but for one reason or another, just don't. Especially when they're things that ask us to face the weaknesses in ourselves. Let's be honest. Who among us ISN'T more tempted by that delivery pizza than by the exercise bike gathering dust in the corner?

You know how hard it is to drive yourself to do that one thing that you've been procrastinating about. The longer you put it off, the harder it gets, until it's either just not possible to put it off anymore, or you've given up. But doing some research for my www.self-positivity.com site the other day, I found some interesting research had been done on the topic. In particular, one study found that the key difference between procrastinators and non-procrastinators (if there is such a word) is simply the point of mental focus. Put another way, the people who get on with it are the ones who don't focus on what has to be done, but who are focussed on WHAT THEY GET AT THE END OF IT. Results.

Think about it. Alarm goes off and you know you really should get up and exercise. It's cold, you didn't sleep well, you think about how hard it is to drag yourself out of the blankets, force yourself down the road to the gym, change, torture yourself with exercise that you don't want to do and really don't think you've got time for, only to have to shower again and get ready for work. No brainer what you're going to do. It's called a "SNOOZE" button.
On the other hand, if the alarm goes off, you wake up and go "holy cow it's cold", but you have a clear picture in your head of a dress you're determined to fit into at a wedding coming up in a few weeks, (plus you know how good you're going to feel after a good workout, nice and warm from your exertion and with energy to spare for the rest of the day) are you much more likely to get up?

For years we've been told by marketers that in order to sell anything, you need to remember that people don't want to see features, they want benefits. Now it seems that this is how we can sell ourselves on something we want as well. Stop dwelling on the methods and processes of what you need to do, and put your focus firmly on what you're going to get out of it.

As a long term, at-least-second-generation procrastinator myself, I can promise you it works!!!
Editorial

As you know, I've been working on my own book for a long time now, as well as accumulating any number of articles for writing this ezine (coming up to 6 years now!). While I was researching how to structure it, I found this guy, and signed up for his FREE ezine course. It got me working so much more smoothly, I ordered the whole course, and the results I've got are with only having gone a little way in.

If you've got any interest in writing yourself, I highly recommend you check out the email course on offer. Find it at http://www.crystalnwoods.com/writing1

How to write a book (or anything) in an incredibly short time...
