Celebrate Lennon's birthday in Manhattan
On Sunday, October 10, 2004 from 3 to 7 p.m. the Daytrippin'
International Beatles Fan Club will host a party in Manhattan to
celebrate John Lennon's birthday!
We'll have live Beatles/solo music, guest speakers, trivia games and free prizes!

Location:
The Slipper Room
167 Orchard Street (at Stanton Street)
212-253-7246
Subway: F, V to Lower East Side-Second Ave.

Musical guest, Jan Owen
Experience Jan's highly acclaimed one-man 'Fab Fouray' show including songs that would be challenge enough for a four-piece band, let alone a solo guitarist. Jan just returned from Liverpool, England, where he performed 8 shows at the Cavern Club (and 3 other venues), for International Beatle Week 2004. Out of hundreds of applicants worldwide, he was one of only 40 acts chosen to perform there. And, he'll be playing at the Australian Beatles Festival in Adelaide next June, and has been invited back to play Beatle Week 2005 next August as well! In
honor of Lennon's birthday, Jan will be performing some Lennon solo songs as well as Beatle classics.

Confirmed Guest speakers:
John Stevens, songwriting professor at Berklee College of Music
Stevens is an expert on the music of John Lennon. He is the author of The Songs of John Lennon: The Beatle
Years. For more than 20 years, he has taught "The Music of John Lennon," one of the most popular courses in the Berklee curriculum. He will be doing a presentation on Lennon's musical genius.

Linda Schultz, Editor of new Beatles book
Schultz has compiled the new book, Tales of The Awesome Foursome, a compilation of stories, poems and essays about the Beatles written by Beatles fans. She will be joined by other contributors to share their personal memories of the Beatles.

Session moderators include:
Susan Ryan, publisher and editor-in-chief of Rooftop Sessions: The Finest in Beatles-related Fiction.
