Mocha Monday at Cappuccino’s Freebie Caf?.
Good
morning everyone. At the moment, I feel like I’m running
around in
an endless circle. It is difficult for me to adapt to change
so
changing spaces (homes) is a very sad experience for me. I grew
up in
this house, raised my kids and some of my grandchildren in
this
house. It has a lot of memories for me and it saddens me
to leave
it behind. Such is life!
There are

Today’s Recipes
Since Christmas
baking is around the corner, I thought these
cookie icing
recipes might come in handy.
The most popular
icing to make for packaging decorated cookies
in cellophane
bags is Royal icing. Royal dries hard and shiny and
won't stick to
the inside of the bag. Royal
Icing
3 tablespoons
meringue powder
1 lb. (4 cups)
confectioners' sugar
6 tablespoons hot
water
1 teaspoon
vanilla
Combine
ingredients in order given. Beat until icing reaches
desired consistency.
Use stiff
consistency icing for design outline and thin icing to fill
in the design.

For a softer
finish, ice your cookies with a vanilla glaze instead.
Vanilla
Glaze
2 cups powdered
sugar - sift before measuring
1 1/2 tablespoons
butter, softened
1/2 teaspoon
vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon salt
3 to 4
tablespoons milk
Combine all
ingredients in a small mixing bowl. Stir until
smooth and well
blended.
Adjust for
spreading consistency if necessary, adding more
milk or more
powdered sugar. Add color, if desired. Spread
icing or drizzle
on cookies.

(Anyone who has ever dressed a child will love this one!)
Did you hear about the Texas
teacher who was helping one of her
kindergarten students put on his cowboy boots? He asked for
help
and she could see why.
Even with her pulling and him pushing, the little boots
still didn't
want to go on. By the time they got the second boot on, She
had
worked up a sweat.
She almost cried when the little boy said, "Teacher,
they're on the
wrong feet."
She looked, and sure enough, they were. It wasn't any easier
pulling
the boots off than it was putting them on. She managed to
keep her
cool as together they worked to get the boots back on, this
time on
the right feet.
He then announced, "These aren't my boots."
She bit her tongue rather than get right in his face and
scream, Why
didn't you say so?", like she wanted to. Once again,
she struggled to
help him pull the ill-fitting boots off his little feet.
No sooner had they gotten the boots off when he said,
"They're my
brother's boots. My Mom made me wear 'em."
Now she didn't know if she should laugh or cry. But, she
mustered
up what grace and courage she had left to wrestle the boots
on his
feet again.
Helping him into his coat, she asked, "Now, where are
your Mittens?"
He said, "I stuffed 'em in the toes of my boots."
She will be eligible for parole in three years.

An American touring Spain
stopped at a local restaurant following
a day of sightseeing. While sipping his sangria, he noticed
a sizzling,
scrumptious looking platter being served at the next table.
Not only
did it look good, the aroma was wonderful.
He asked the waiter, "What is that you just served?"
The waiter replied, "Ah, senor, you have excellent
taste! Those are
bull's testicles from the bull fight this morning. A
delicacy!"
The American, thought momentarily daunted, said, "What
the hell,
I'm on vacation! Bring me an order!"
The waiter replied, "I am so sorry, senor. There is
only one serving
per day because there is only one bull fight each morning.
If you
come early tomorrow and place your order, we will be sure to
save
you this delicacy!"
The next morning, the American returned, placed his order,
and
then that evening he was served the one and only special
delicacy
of the day. A after a few bites, and inspecting the contents
of his
platter, he called to the waiter and said... "These are
delicious, but
they are much smaller than the ones I saw you serve
yesterday!"
The waiter shrugged his shoulders and replied, "Si,
senor.
Sometimes the bull wins."
