Welcome to Cappuccino’s Freebie Caf?.

Good morning everyone.

As you all know by now, I live by Murphy’s Law…..whatever
can go wrong, will.

I’ve mentioned previously that my mother has been in and out
of hospital frequently the past 7 months due to numerou
serious ailments. But, on Valentine’s day, both parents were
admitted to hospital. I guess the couple who ail together,
stays together.

As the hospital is quite large, and I have difficulty walking due
to a bad hip, I was hoping they would place the two of them
in the same room so they could keep each other company.

No way! One is on the 4th and one is on the 2nd floor……at
opposite ends of the hospital, no less. Needless to say, I have a
great deal of walking ….back and forth… back and forth
…..between the two.

Yesterday, I took my father (in his hospital attire and wheelchair)
to visit my mother. As she was not in her room, I left him there
while I went to enquire at, the nurses’ station, my mother’
whereabouts. An attendant, noticing that there was a man in a
ladies’ hospital room, assumed that my father was either lost,
disoriented or whatnot. As I approached the room, I stood there
listening to the attendant trying to convince my father, to no avail
to leave the room. After a good giggle, I informed her of the
unusual circumstances.

Needless to say, my parents are now the gossip of the hospital.
It seems that there was only one prior occasions where a couple
had been admitted at the same time.

OK Murphy! What’s in store for me next?

May your hearts be happy, your mailboxes full and the
mailman forever busy. Until next week, Happy Hunting!!!!

Daily Funnies

The Sisters of St. Francis

A man is driving down a deserted stretch of highway when he
notices a sign out of the corner of his eye....It reads:

SISTERS OF ST. FRANCIS
HOUSE OF PROSTITUTION
10 MILES

He thinks this is a figment of his imagination and drives on
without second thought....Soon he sees another sign which reads:

SISTERS OF ST. FRANCIS
HOUSE OF PROSTITUTION
5 MILES

Suddenly he begins to realize that these signs are for real and
drives past a third sign saying:

SISTERS OF ST. FRANCIS
HOUSE OF PROSTITUTION
NEXT RIGHT

His curiosity gets the best of him and he pulls into the drive.
On the far side of the parking lot is a stone building with a
small sign next to the door reading:

SISTERS OF ST. FRANCIS

He climbs the steps and rings the bell. The door is answered
by a nun in a long black habit who asks, "What may we do
for you my son?"

He answers, "I saw your signs along the highway and was
interested in possibly doing business...."

"Very well my son. Please follow me." He is led through many
winding passages and is soon quite disoriented. The nun stops
at a closed door and tells the man, "Please knock on this door."

He does so and another nun in a long habit, holding a tin cup
answers the door... This nun instructs, "Please place $100 in
the cup then go through the large wooden door at the end of the
hallway."

He puts $100 in the cup, eagerly trots down the hall and slips
through the door pulling it shut behind him. The door locks,
and he finds himself back in the parking lot facing another sign:

GO IN PEACE.

YOU HAVE JUST BEEN SCREWED BY THE SISTERS
OF ST. FRANCIS. SERVES YOU RIGHT, YOU SINNER.

A true story

A Michigan woman and her family were vacationing in a small
New England town where Paul Newman and his family often
visited.

One Sunday morning, the woman got up early to take a long
walk. After a brisk hike, she decided to treat herself to a
double-dip chocolate ice cream cone. She hopped in the car,
drove to the center of the village and went straight to the
combination bakery/ice cream parlor.

There was only one other patron in the store:

Paul Newman, sitting at the counter having a doughnut and
coffee. The woman's heart skipped a beat as her eyes made
contact with those famous baby-blue eyes. The actor
nodded graciously and the star-struck woman smiled
demurely.

Pull yourself together! she chides herself. You're a happily
married woman with three children; you're forty-five years
old, not a teenager! The clerk filled her order and she took
the double-dip chocolate ice cream cone in one hand and
her change in the other. Then she went out the door,
avoiding even a glance in Paul Newman's direction.

When she reached her car, she realized that she had a
handful of change - but her other hand was empty.
here's my ice cream cone? Did I leave it in the store?

Back into the shop she went, expecting to see the
cone still in the clerk's hand or in a holder on the
counter or something. But no ice cream cone was
in sight. With that, she happened to look over at
Paul Newman. His face broke into his familiar warm,
friendly grin and he said to the woman,
"You put it
in your purse.."
