Welcome to Cappuccino’s Freebie Caf?.

Good morning everyone.

Last weekend, I decided to take my mother (who hadn’t
been out for a very long time) to a street garage sale. THAT
was fun. There I was, a cripple pushing a totally disabled
person in a wheelchair. As luck would have it, all the
houses were situated on little hills (now that was a real
workout for me……up hill, down hill).

I parked the wheelchair on the sidewalk (forgot to put on
the brakes) and proceeded to take a look at the items for
sale when I heard someone yell, “runaway wheelchair”.

As I turned around, the wheelchair was slowly heading
down the street. My mother, totally unaware of this,
thought I was pushing her along and continued to carry on
a conversation thinking I was right behind her.

What a sight! There I was, hop-a-long Cassidy, chasing the
wheelchair and praying that I catch it before it hit a hump
and catapulted my mother all the way to Neverland.

Huffing and puffing, I grabbed the handles and secured the
brakes….. my mother still jabbering away in her foreign
“stroke” language and totally oblivious to what had just
transpired.

Thank God for small miracles. Gotta remember them
there brakes.

Cool Cream Pies from Vanilla Cream to Strawberry Cream

Basic Vanilla Cream Pie

Use this cream pie recipe as the basis for many other pies.

Ingredients

3 cups milk or light cream
1/3 cup granulated sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
3 large egg yolks
1 whole egg
1/4 cup cornstarch
1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 tablespoons butter
1/2 tablespoon vanilla extract
One 9-inch baked pie shell

Directions

1. In a heavy saucepan, mix the milk, 1/3 cup sugar, and
salt. Cook, stirring often with a whisk, just until the mixture
begins to boil.

2. With a whisk, whip the egg yolks and whole egg together
in a stainless steel bowl. Sift the cornstarch and 1/2 cup
sugar together into the eggs. Whip until perfectly smooth.

3. While stirring the eggs with your whisk, drizzle the hot
milk into the egg mixture. The hot milk will temper the
eggs. Return the filling mixture to the heat and cook,
stirring constantly, until the mixture comes to a boil and
thickens. Remove from the heat.

4. Stir in the butter and vanilla until the butter is melted.
Pour into a baked, cooled pie shell.
More Great Cream Pies

• Banana Cream Pie.

Use a deep dish pan. Pour half the vanilla filling into the
pie shell and then cover with banana slices. Cover the
banana slices with the rest of the filling.

• Coconut Cream Pie.

Toast one cup of unsweetened coconut. Add 2/3’s to the
vanilla cream. Garnish with the remainder.

• Chocolate Cream Pie.

Melt two ounces unsweetened chocolate with one ounce
semisweet. Stir it into the warm vanilla filling.

• Pineapple Cream Pie.

Drain the juice from a can of crushed pineapple, pressing
the liquid from the fruit. Stir 2/3 cup of the well drained
pineapple into the filling.

• Strawberry Cream Pie.

This is a cousin to a banana cream pie and it’s just as easy
if you buy strawberry glaze from the grocery store. Use a
and then cover with strawberry slices. Cover the strawberry
slices with the rest of the filling. Arrange strawberry slices
on top of pie and cover with strawberry glaze.

Buffalo Style Burgers

Ingredients

1/4 cup Buffalo Wing Sauce Red Hot or Cayenne Pepper
Sauce
1/4 cup blue cheese or ranch salad dressing
6 (4 oz.) ground beef patties
Salt and pepper to taste
4 large Kaiser or hamburger rolls, split and toasted
1/2 cup crumbled blue cheese (optional)

Directions

1. Prepare Buffalo Dressing, combine Buffalo Wing Sauce
and salad dressing.

2. Season patties with salt and pepper. Grill or broil about
10 min. for medium rare.

3. Serve burgers on rolls with lettuce and tomatoes. Spoon
Buffalo Dressing on burgers and top with blue cheese, if
desired.

Leroy from Port Antonio always wanted to look cool.
His friend told him that he needed a good designer pair of
trainers to go with his shell suit.

Leroy saved up all his pay slips and all the money he got
back from returning his empty bottles of Red Stripe and
finally managed to get himself a pair of brilliant white
trainers to go with his shell suit.

Proudly, he strutted down the street calling out to all the
passers by "See meh new trainers dem? Cool, eh?"

One fine upstanding gentleman pointed out that they were
indeed a fine pair of trainers but was young Leroy aware that
he had a lace undone?

Leroy scornfully retorted that it was part of being cool to
have a trailing lace and that on the bottom of the trainer there
were instructions for the wearer to only have one lace tied.

When asked for proof of this instruction, Leroy took off his
trainer and held it upside down for the disbeliever to read.

"There y'are! It clearly says ....

"TAIWAN."
