Welcome to Cappuccino’s Freebie Caf?.

Well…the good weather is upon us and, darn it, I’m
feeling a wee bit lazy of late. To heck with daily
chores, gimme the sun!!!

Muffy, my Pomeranian and sun goddess princess, was
sunning herself out in the backyard recently. Now, as we
live near a school, children pass by the backyard daily
and stop to greet the princess.

As usual, she was lying on the ground by the fence, flat
on her back, legs spread spread-eagled, and tanning her
belly when along came the kids.

Seeing her belly-up and getting no response from her,
a distraught child screamed, “Oh my gawd, I think she’s
dead!”

Disturbed by the scream, the sun goddess jumped up
and scared the h*ll out of the kids. Long live the princess!

P.S. She’s a little sunburned too.

Today’s Recipes

Chocolate Angel Food Cake with Chocolate Drizzle

3/4 cup cake flour
1/4 cup good quality Dutch cocoa
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar
1/2 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1 3/4 cup egg whites, about 13 large eggs
1 tablespoon warm water
1 teaspoon vanilla
3/4 cup granulated sugar

Directions

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.

1. In a bowl, sift the flour, cocoa, baking soda, and the
first 3/4 cup of sugar together. Set aside.

2. Beat the egg whites in a large bowl with the tablespoon
of warm water until foamy. Add the cream of tartar, salt,
and the vanilla and continue beating, gradually adding the
last 3/4 cup of sugar, until soft peaks form.

3. Gently fold in about one-fourth of the flour and cocoa
mixture. Repeat with the remaining mixture until all the
flour is mixed in. Do not stir more than necessary.

4. Scrape the batter into an ungreased tube pan. Bake
for 45 to 50 minutes or until done. When done, the cake
will spring back to the touch. Immediately invert the
tube pan over the neck of a bottle and let cool in the
inverted position.

Drizzle

3 tablespoons cocoa
2 cups powdered sugar
Water or milk to reach desired consistency

Mix the cocoa, powdered sugar, and water or milk
together to reach the desired syrup-like consistency.

To serve, drizzle the chocolate syrup over each a slice
of cake. Garnish with whipped cream and fresh raspberries
if desired.

All too rarely, airline attendants make an effort to make the
in-flight safety lecture and announcements a bit more
entertaining. Here are some real examples that have been
heard or reported.

1. On a Continental flight with a very "senior" flight
attendant crew, the pilot said, "Ladies and gentlemen, we've
reached cruising altitude and will be turning down the cabin
lights. This is for your comfort and to enhance the
appearance of your flight attendants."

2. On landing, the stewardess said, "Please be sure to take all
of your belongings. If you're going to leave anything, please
make sure it's something we'd like to have."

3. "There may be 50 ways to leave your lover, but there are
only 4 ways out of this airplane."

4. After a particularly rough landing during thunderstorms in
Memphis, a flight attendant on a Northwest flight
announced, "Please take care when opening the overhead
compartments because, after a landing like that, sure as hell
everything has shifted."

5. From a Southwest Airlines employee: "Welcome aboard
Southwest Flight 245 to Tampa. To operate your seat belt,
insert the metal tab into the buckle, and pull tight. It works
just like every other seat belt; and, if you don't know how to
operate one, you probably shouldn't be out in public
unsupervised."

6. "In the event of a sudden loss of cabin pressure, masks
will descend from the ceiling. Stop screaming, grab the
mask, and pull it over your face. If you have a small child
traveling with you, secure your mask before assisting with
theirs. If you are traveling with more than one small child,
pick your favorite."

7. "Weather at our destination is 50 degrees with some
broken clouds, but we'll try to have them fixed before we
arrive. Thank you, and remember, nobody loves you, or your
money, more than Southwest Airlines."

8. "Your seat cushions can be used for flotation; and, in the
event of an emergency water landing, please paddle to shore
and take them with our compliments."

9. "As you exit the plane, make sure to gather all of your
belongings. Anything left behind will be distributed evenly
among the flight attendants. Please do not leave children or
spouses."

10. From the pilot during his welcome message: "Delta
Airlines is pleased to have some of the best flight attendants
in the industry. Unfortunately, none of them are on this
flight!"

11. Heard on Southwest Airlines just after a very hard
landing in Salt Lake City the flight attendant came on the
intercom and said, "That was quite a bump, and I know what
y'all are thinking. I'm here to tell you it wasn't the airline's
fault, it wasn't the pilot's fault, it wasn't the flight attendants'
fault, it was the asphalt."

12. During the final approach on an American Airlines flight
into Amarillo, Texas, on a particularly windy and bumpy
day, the Captain was really having to fight it. After an
extremely hard landing, the flight attendant said, "Ladies and
Gentlemen, welcome to Amarillo. Please remain in your
seats with your seat belts fastened while the Captain taxis
what's left of our airplane to the gate!"

13. Part of a flight attendant's arrival announcement: "We'd
like to thank you folks for flying with us today. And, the
next time you get the insane urge to go blasting through the
skies in a pressurized metal tube, we hope you'll think of US
Airways."

14. Heard on a Southwest Airlines flight. "Ladies and
gentlemen, if you wish to smoke, the smoking section on this
airplane is on the wing and if you can light 'em, you can
smoke 'em."

15. A plane was taking off from Kennedy Airport. After it
reached a comfortable cruising altitude, the captain made an
announcement over the intercom, "Ladies and gentlemen,
this is your captain speaking. Welcome to Flight Number
293, nonstop from New York to Los Angeles. The weather
ahead is good and, therefore, we should have a smooth and
uneventful flight. Now sit back and relax.. OH, MY GOD!"

Silence followed, and after a few minutes, the captain came
back on the intercom and said, "Ladies and Gentlemen, I am
so sorry if I scared you earlier. While I was talking to you,
the flight attendant accidentally spilled a cup of hot coffee in
my lap. You should see the front of my pants!"

A passenger in coach yelled, "That's nothing. You should
see the back of mine."

A man appeared before St. Peter at the Pearly Gates.

"Have you ever done anything of particular merit?" St. Peter
asked.

“Well, I can think of one thing," the man offered. "Once, on

directed them to leave her alone, but they wouldn't listen.

So I approached the largest and most heavily tattooed biker
and smacked him in his face, kicked his bike over, ripped
out his nose ring and threw it on the ground. Then I yelled,
"Now back off or I'll kick the sh*t out of all of you!" St.

Peter was impressed..."When did this happen?"

"Just a couple minutes ago..."
